The market is waiting for the results of the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) interest rate meeting, as well as U.S. labour and other data, generally take a wait-and-see attitude, the horse shares by the public sector stocks and medical stocks selling pressure dragged down, and ultimately ended with the day's low, the FTSE Composite Index closed at 1,611.94, a full-day drop of 12.62 points, or 0.78%.
At the end of the day, the FTSE All-Share Index was down 77.85 points at 12,468.70, while the GEM Index fell 110.83 points to close at 5,668.17.
The healthcare index fell 2.10 per cent, followed by the utilities index, which slipped 1.65 per cent, while the technology index closed marginally up 0.12 per cent, the only index to rise.
The overall market performance was weak, with 814 declining stocks, 347 advancing stocks, 457 flat stocks, 778 no-trade stocks, and 125 suspended stocks. Turnover for the day was 4.186 billion shares, with a total value of RM3.108 billion.
Other major stocks, Ma Pacific (MPI, 3867, the main board technology stocks) rose RM 1.06 to RM 38.66, Star Lion Holdings (F&N, 3689, the main board consumer stocks) rose 46 sen to RM 30.80; son of the mother brand (DLADY, 3026, the main board consumer stocks) fell 46 sen to RM 31.98, and Ajinomoto (AJI, 2658, the main board consumer stocks) (AJI, 2658) fell 20 sen to RM14.80.
Most of the IMEI constituents were down, with Nestle (NESTLE, 4707, main board consumer) falling RM4.00 to RM108.50, PPB Group (PPB, 4065, main board consumer) down 22 sen to RM14.60 and Petronas Gas (PETGAS, 6033, main board utilities) down 20 sen to RM18.00.
In addition, YTL Institutional (YTL, 4677, Mainboard Utilities) fell 15 sen to RM3.41 and YTL Power (YTLPOWR, 6742, Mainboard Utilities) dropped 14 sen to RM4.61.
On the upside, Kuala Lumpur Ketong (KLK, 2445, mainboard plantation stocks) rose 18 sen to RM20.88, Allied Resources (QL, 7084, mainboard consumer stocks) rose 8 sen to RM6.68 and Sime Darby (SIME, 4197, mainboard consumer stocks) rose 4 sen to RM2.62.
Banking stocks, Bank Negara (MAYBANK, 1155) fell 12 sen to RM10.08, Public Bank (PBBANK, 1295) dropped 6 sen to RM4.18, CIMB (CIMB, 1023) fell 3 sen to RM7.21, Industrial Bank (RHBBANK, 1066) fell 4 sen to RM5.66, Hong Leong Bank (HLBANK. 5819) rose 8 sen to RM19.20 and Hong Leong Financial Group (HLFG, 1082) fell 10 sen to RM17.20.
On the hot shares front, Velocity Partners (VELOCITY, 7165, mainboard industrials) fell 0.5 sen to 7.5 sen, OCR Group (OCR, 7071, mainboard construction) lost 1.5 sen to 7 sen, Top Glove (TOPGLOV, 7113, mainboard healthcare) lost 7 sen to RM1.09, Velesto Energy (VELESTO, 5243. Mainboard energy shares) fell 0.5 sen to 22 sen, while Ekovest (EKOVEST, 8877, Mainboard construction shares) rose 0.5 sen to 45 sen.
市场等待即将召开的联邦公开市场委员会（FOMC）议息会议结果，以及美国劳工等数据，普遍采取观望态度，马股受到公用股和医疗股卖压拖累，最终以全日最低点收盘,富时综合指数收市报1611.94点，全天跌12.62点或0.78%。
主要指数全面下跌收盘时，富时全股指数下跌77.85点，报12468.70点，创业板指数也挫110.83点，收报5668.17点。
当中医疗保健指数更是重挫2.10%，紧接着的是公用事业指数，下滑1.65%，另外科技指数收盘微涨0.12%，为唯一上升的指数。
市场整体表现疲软，全场下跌股814只，上涨股347只，457股只平盘，778只股无交易，另外125只股停盘。全天成交量41.86亿股，总成交值31.08亿令吉。
其他主要股项，马太平洋（MPI，3867，主板科技股）涨1.06令吉至38.66令吉，星狮控股（F&N，3689，主板消费股）涨46仙至30.80令吉；子母牌（DLADY，3026，主板消费股）跌46仙至31.98令吉，而味之素（AJI，2658，主板消费股）则跌20仙至14.80令吉。
综指成分股多数下跌，雀巢（NESTLE，4707，主板消费股）跌4.00令吉至108.50令吉，PPB集团（PPB，4065，主板消费股）跌22仙至14.60令吉，国油气体（PETGAS，6033，主板公用事业股）跌20仙至18.00令吉。
此外，杨忠礼机构（YTL，4677，主板公用事业股）跌15仙至3.41令吉，杨忠礼电力（YTLPOWR，6742，主板公用事业股）跌14仙至4.61令吉。
上涨股，吉隆坡甲洞（KLK，2445，主板种植股）涨18仙至20.88令吉，全利资源（QL，7084，主板消费股）涨8仙至6.68令吉，森那美（SIME，4197，主板消费股）涨4仙至2.62令吉。
银行股，马银行（MAYBANK，1155）跌12仙至10.08令吉，大众银行（PBBANK，1295）跌6仙至4.18吉，联昌国际（CIMB，1023）跌3仙至7.21令吉，兴业银行（RHBBANK，1066）跌4仙5.66令吉，丰隆银行（HLBANK，5819）涨8仙至19.20令吉，丰隆金融集团（HLFG，1082）跌10仙至17.20令吉。
