Selamat Ulangtahun Penubuhan MARA ke 60 tahun.

MARA (Majlis Amanah Rakyat) ditubuhkan pada 1 Mac 1966 hasil resolusi Kongres Ekonomi Bumiputera 1965, sebagai kesinambungan RIDA (Rural and Industrial Development Authority) untuk memperhebat pembangunan sosioekonomi Bumiputera. Agenda utamanya ialah memperkasakan ekonomi, pendidikan, dan latihan teknikal (TVET) untuk melahirkan modal insan berintegriti serta usahawan Bumiputera yang berdaya saing.
Berikut adalah agenda utama penubuhan MARA:
Pembangunan Pendidikan: Menyediakan akses pendidikan berkualiti melalui penubuhan institusi seperti Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) dan Kolej MARA bagi melahirkan modal insan strategik.

1. Keusahawanan dan Perindustrian: Membangunkan usahawan Bumiputera yang berjaya, inovatif, dan berdaya saing melalui latihan serta kemudahan perniagaan.
Pembangunan Luar Bandar: Memperhebat usaha pembangunan sosioekonomi, terutamanya di kawasan luar bandar.
2. Latihan Teknikal dan Vokasional (TVET): Melaksanakan agenda strategik dalam sektor tenaga dan kejuruteraan melalui institusi latihan seperti IKM (Institut Kemahiran MARA) dan NEST (National Electrical Energy Specialist Academy).
3. Pemilikan Ekuiti: Meningkatkan penyertaan dan pemilikan ekuiti kaum Bumiputera dalam ekonomi negara.
MARA ditubuhkan untuk menjadi agensi yang lebih berfokus dan progresif, mengatasi peranan RIDA yang lebih bersifat penyediaan infrastruktur sahaja.
