[TIPS] What is Excess in your motor insurance policy? Under what circumstances, you have to pay for the excess？

Excess is whereby you have to pay the first part of the claim and
the amount. It will be at stated in the policy schedule. For example, the excess of your policy is RM400 and the total claim amount is RM2000. Your car insurance company will pay out RM1600 for the claim while you have to pay the remaining RM400 in order to have the car released after repair.

2f excess would apply depend on the details of the authorized driver at time of accident as follow:-
i. if driver is below 21 years of age
ii. If driver holds a L licence
iii. If driver has full licence less than 2 years (P Licence)
iv. If driver is unnamed driver in policy
