1️⃣ Legal Status (The New Standard): You must hold Temporary or Permanent Mexican Residency. Banks now require this legal status to move forward. It’s the clearest way to show you are committed to the country.

2️⃣ Healthy US Credit History: Good news: You don't need a Mexican credit history to qualify! We utilize your US Credit Report (FICO) to assess your profile. Your good financial behavior back home travels with you.

3️⃣ Income Documentation: You need to prove your ability to pay, but we keep it simple. We verify your income primarily through your Pay Stubs and/or Bank Statements. No need to complicate things if you have steady cash flow.

The banking landscape has shifted. As of late 2025, current mortgage guidelines now require US applicants to hold valid Mexican Residency (Temporary or Permanent).

What does this mean for you?
The days of qualifying for a bank loan solely on a tourist entry permit are behind us. To protect your investment and access the best rates, lenders now require you to formalize your status in the country.

The Good News:
Getting your residency is a straightforward process that offers benefits beyond just the mortgage and it solidifies your life in Mexico.

The Checklist:
✅ Valid Passport.
✅ Temporary (Renewed) or Permanent Residency.
