Limiton Banda (photo, standing), a 31-year-old farmer from Traditional Authority Kabudula in Lilongwe, stands as a powerful testament to the transformative power of sustainable agricultural practices and strategic support. With assistance from the , he received 200kg of high-quality seed inputs πΎ and adopted the doubled-up legume planting technique taught by extension officers.
This innovative approach yielded remarkable results. From just 5 acres, Limiton harvested a staggering 9 metric tons of soybeans, generating substantial revenue π°. The financial gains didn't just end with a successful harvest; they catalyzed a cycle of economic empowerment and community development.
With the profits, Limiton has made significant investments in his future and his community:
