Our Core Values
Community initiative for entrepreneurship and youth development seeks to build on the last 8 years of youth centered work, we are focusing on areas in this sector with the greatest need. Hence, it is even more important for EYI’s approach and activities to be guided by the values that define our organization. Every volunteer or employee lives our values as we work together
to deliver on our mission and vision. Accountability– We are accountable to our participants, families, community, donors & other stakeholders. Compassion– We seek to provide empathetic & compassionate service to all but especially vulnerable youth. Teamwork– We commit to working together with all our stakeholders toward enhancing youth development. Respect– We believe all people have inherent value (regardless of culture, belief, personal abilities etc.) and should be treated with dignity. Integrity– We will ensure that integrity is the foundation of all our individual & collective actions. Transformation- We commit to urgent action, innovation & transformation within the world and in our own organization. Our youth empowerment model is based on the foundation of “open access” for all young people. Our skilled volunteers provide a safe, stimulating place and purpose for young people from the ages of 12 to 21. We support young people’s transition to adulthood
Community initiative on entrepreneurship and youth development membership is free and once the young people are here, we work to promote positive change in them and support their transition to adulthood in three key ways:
Improving young people’s Health& Wellbeing and encouraging the development of long term healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices. Involving young people in Community Engagement by improving their ability to relate to others, boosting their volunteering activities and also their political and spiritual awareness. Preparing young people for Education & Work with the overall aim of improving their educational attainment, providing access to relevant training opportunities and supporting them in gaining meaningful employment. We seek at working with young people (ages 12-21) and engage them in activities such as socializing, sports, adventure, and economic empowerment. Our work involves engaging with young people on a one to one level as well as in small and larger groups. We also seek to detach youth work, outreach and mentoring, day and residential trips. We do targeted work e.g. with at risk girls and boys. Good relationships are key! In order to achieve our three key objectives, we concentrate on building good relationships with young people through various activities.
