Are you passionate about software development and looking for hands-on experience in fintech? Join MlimiPay as a Software Developer Intern and work on impactful projects that drive financial inclusion for farmers in Malawi!

📍 Location: MlimiPay Limited, Malawi (Full-time, in-office)
📆 Duration: 6 Months
💰 Stipend: MWK 150,000 - 250,000 per month

Requirements:
🔹 Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
🔹 Experience in Java, JavaScript, Python, or PHP
🔹 Knowledge of Laravel, React, or Node.js is a plus
🔹 Familiarity with USSD gateways and Mobile Money Integration (TNM Mpamba & Airtel Money)
🔹 Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Many farmers are still struggling with the high cost of maize seed, even under the so-called Affordable Input Program. For a program meant to ease the burden, these prices are far from affordable.

That's why solutions like Mlimi Digital Wallet are so important. Growing up, I watched my mom struggle to pay my secondary school fees. Back then, the costs were less than MWK 2,000.00, but even that was tough to manage. Sometimes, I would be sent home because the payment wasn't made on time, and we often had to split the payment into two halves just to get by.

Today, I see the same struggles among farmers in Malawi. The cost of living has skyrocketed, and many government secondary schools, whether Open and Distance Learning (ODL) or day schools, now charge over MWK 30,000. These same farmers not only need to send their children to school, but also feed their families and purchase expensive farm inputs to keep their livelihoods going. It's a heavy burden.

That is why we started MlimiFees to help farmers save and manage school fees better. We understand their struggles because we've been there, and we’re committed to making a difference.
