NBS Bank The Bank was incorporated as a limited company on 14th March 2003 and was registered under the Banking Act 1989 on 1st March 2004.

NBS Bank is a fully fledged commercial bank providing a wide range of financial services to individuals, small and medium businesses, large corporations and public institutions. It started its commercial banking operations on 1st July 2004. The Bank’s predecessor institution, the New Building Society, was formed following the amalgamation of the Central African Building Society, Commonwealth Centu

ry Building Society and First Building Society. It was incorporated under the Building Societies Act on 7th February 1964. NBS Bank is listed on the Malawi Stock Exchange and currently its shareholding is as follows: Nico Holdings Limited 50%, Continental Holdings Limited 27%, General Public 15%, IFC 5%, Continental Asset Managers Ltd 2%, NITL 1%. In line with our philosophy of “taking banking to the people,” the bank boasts of having one of the widest and probably the best service network in Malawi. NBS Bank has 32 real-time Service Centres strategically located across the country. In addition, the Bank offers the highest number of ATM’s, very innovative Mobile, Agency and SMS banking services to give our customers additional service delivery platforms.

NBS Bank has officially launched the Kwakoma Ndiku NBS Bank promotion in a bid to promote a savings culture amongst Malawians.

Speaking during the launch, NBS Bank Chief Operating Officer, Shadrick Chikusilo has urged Malawians to open an NBS Bank account and continue transacting through the Bank’s EazyBank digital platforms while maintaining a balance of K250,000 in their accounts.

Customers stand a chance of winning an electric vehicle and other prizes such as a solar pack and K1 Million Kwacha monthly during the promotion which runs from 1st June to 31st December 2026.
