On Friday, 28 August 2026, Old Mutual Malawi Limited officially launched its subsidiary, Old Mutual Finance Limited—a non-deposit-taking micro-lender established to expand access to credit and help more Malawians achieve their financial goals.

Held at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, the launch was themed “Unlocking Possibilities: Helping Malawi Thrive.” The event was graced by the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Dr George Partridge; the President of the Microfinance Association of Malawi, Mr Duncan Phulusa; and other distinguished guests.

Old Mutual Finance offers innovative lending solutions tailored to the needs of Malawians. These include the Golden Reserve Loan for retirees and annuitants, which provides access to credit secured against annuity income, as well as payroll loans for private-sector employees.

Through these solutions, Old Mutual Finance is helping more Malawians access the financial support they need to pursue opportunities, meet important needs and THRIVE.
