As part of the official visit to the Maldives, Mr. Toshiyuki (Tiger) Ishii, President & CEO of Canon Singapore Pte. Ltd., paid a special visit to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), one of SIMDI Group’s longstanding and valued customers.

The engagement provided an opportunity to recognise the longstanding relationship between MNDF, Canon and SIMDI Group, built on trust, reliability and a shared commitment to excellence.

As a gesture of appreciation for MNDF’s continued confidence in Canon and SIMDI Group, Mr. Ishii presented a commemorative plaque to the Maldives National Defence Force.

The visit highlighted the strong relationships built over the years and our shared commitment to delivering trusted technology, innovation and solutions to institutions across the Maldives.

Mr. Toshiyuki (Tiger) Ishii, President & CEO of Canon Singapore Pte. Ltd., met with the management and teams of SIMDI Group, engaging in meaningful discussions on innovation, emerging technologies, evolving customer needs and the future of Canon in the Maldivian market.

Mr. Ishii also visited SIMDI’s showrooms: SIMDI Tech, Image Square Maldives & SIMDI Tech Service Center, gaining insights into the local customer experience and the growing demand for Canon’s imaging and business solutions, including cameras, printers, scanners and professional imaging technologies.

The engagements also highlighted the importance of strengthening local technical capabilities and after-sales support, ensuring that customers across the Maldives continue to receive trusted solutions and service.

The visit reflects the strength of the 30-year SIMDI Group–Canon partnership and our shared commitment to innovation, customer excellence and continued growth.

Celebrating 30 Years of Partnership, Trust and Innovation

SIMDI Group was honoured to welcome Mr. Toshiyuki (Tiger) Ishii, President & CEO of Canon Singapore Pte. Ltd., to the Maldives for a special visit marking more than three decades of partnership between Canon and SIMDI Group.

As part of the visit, a special press conference was held at SIMDI Head Office, bringing together members of the media and SIMDI Group Management to reflect on the journey of Canon in the Maldives, the strength of the Canon–SIMDI partnership, and the role this collaboration has played in supporting customers, businesses and professionals across the country.

Since Canon was introduced to the Maldives through SIMDI in 1995, the partnership has continued to grow and expand access to Canon’s comprehensive portfolio of imaging and business solutions, including printers, scanners, cameras and professional imaging products. More than three decades on, this milestone is not only a celebration of how far the partnership has come, but also of the trust, relationships and shared progress built along the way.
