The Social Contribution and Social Benefits Bill will be presented at the National Assembly this afternoon. The objective of this bill is to define all the contribution parameters linked to the additional pension (CSG) which old-aged persons will be entitled to as from age 65 as from year 2023. The Social Contribution and Social Benefits Bill was presented at first reading yesterday at the Mauritius National Assembly.

This bill has for purpose to confirm or define the contribution rates which employers, employees and self-employed are given to make into the new CSG Plan effective since 01.09.2020.

This bill also defines the various benefits which will be payable and the eligibility conditions for same. The key benefit will be the additional pension of Rs. 4,500 which will payable to persons reaching retirement age.
