IAM joins the IIA Annual Event 2026 as a Supporting Partner!

The Insurers Association of Mauritius (IAM) is pleased to announce its participation as a Supporting Partner of the India InsurTech Association (IIA) Annual Event 2026, one of the key gatherings bringing together the insurance, InsurTech and technology communities.

Press Conference

On Friday, 26 June 2026, the Insurers Association of Mauritius (IAM) held a press conference led by its Secretary General, Vasish Ramkhalawon, to present the insurance industry's views on key measures announced in the National Budget 2026/27.

The Association highlighted that pension reform must be undertaken in a holistic and integrated manner, with all pillars of the retirement system reviewed together to ensure long-term sustainability, adequacy and fairness for both current and future retirees. Comprehensive reform is essential to achieve a balanced and resilient pension framework that serves the best interests of all Mauritians.

IAM also called for medical insurance to be excluded from the proposed 5% tax on general insurance premiums. At a time when healthcare costs continue to increase, preserving the affordability of private medical insurance is vital to encourage greater health insurance coverage, ease the financial burden on households, and complement the country's public healthcare system.

The Association reaffirmed its commitment to working constructively with Government and stakeholders to support reforms that strengthen Mauritius' social protection system, promote financial resilience and enhance the well-being of all citizens.
