The Accountancy Profession – Building the Next Generation of Finance and Business Leaders

The Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA) continued its commitment to inspiring and guiding the next generation of accounting professionals with a second career counselling session, this time held at Dr Maurice Curé State College.

Through this session with young aspiring accountants, participants gained valuable insights into the diverse opportunities within the accountancy profession and its critical role in shaping businesses, economies, and society.

As trusted advisors, accountants today are not only financial experts but also strategic business leaders, driving innovation, governance, sustainability, and digital transformation. This session aimed to empower young professionals with the knowledge, skills, and vision required to succeed in an evolving global environment and to become the future leaders of finance and business.

Our CEO, Dr.Bhavish Jugurnath gave an insightful speech to students, along with representatives from ACCA, Jurisconsult Chambers and Caseware Africa.

𝗠𝗜𝗣𝗔 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 🌳

On Monday, June 8, the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA) under the initiative of its Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, commemorated the World Environment Day 2026 by organising a tree-planting exercise within the Ebene Leisure Park. This initiative aimed at contributing to the enhancement of Mauritius' green infrastructure and supporting the national sustainability agenda.

We were honoured to have the esteemed presence of the Honourable Marie Geneviève Stéphanie Anquetil, MP, His Worship the Mayor, Mr. Lutchmee Gungabissoon and the Councillors of the Municipal Council of Quatre Bornes.

The MIPA would like to extend sincere thanks to the Ministry of Agro-Industry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries for the donation of the saplings to support this initiative. A special thank you goes also to our MIPA member volunteers, the Municipal Council of Quatre Bornes and the Mauri-facilities Team for their valuable support and for facilitating the successful implementation of this initiative.

Their participation significantly reinforces the importance of collective environmental responsibility and demonstrates the strong partnership between public institutions and professional bodies in advancing Mauritius’ sustainability objectives.
