🔹 A first step into the unknown
📅 March 12, 2011 – I arrive in Nouakchott for an interview that will change my life. That day, a turning point begins. I have an opportunity with Sahel TV, the first independent national television channel.
🎒 Armed with my knowledge, ambition, and CV, I feel both nervous and excited. What will happen? Am I ready? Do I belong here?
💼 The decisive interview
🕗 8:15 AM
👤 BOS: Introduce yourself briefly.
👨💼 MM: My name is ………….., I’m thrilled about this opportunity.
👤 BOS: Do you have any experience in media? TV, radio, blogging?
👨💼 MM: Not really. I have a degree in economics and management, but I’m active on social media and have experience in IT and office tools through SOFIP.
👤 BOS: What are your ambitions?
👨💼 MM: I want to gain expertise and explore this field. My ultimate goal is to surpass my own ambitions.
👤 BOS: You’re applying for a Journalist Reporter of Images (JRI) position, but based on our discussion, I see you more as a Studio Technician (TS). This role will allow you to join the technical team and receive fast-track training, including one abroad. What do you think?
👨💼 MM: I’ll think about it and get back to you quickly.
👤 BOS: The sooner, the better. Thank you and see you soon.
🤯 A night of reflection
🌙 For the first time, I feel truly free. Should I follow a pre-made path or carve my own? Freedom is a privilege, but it requires resources, and resources come from hard work.
✅ Accepting the challenge
The next day, I send my acceptance letter. A week later, 📞 Maître M. Yehdih from the legal firm contacts me to approve my 90-day contract (fixed-term contract).
📺 First day in a fascinating world
📍 April 2011 – Sahel TV, 7th floor of the Afarco building. My love for media is finally becoming real.

⚠️ The Storm is Coming…
📡 Our reports become more daring. But political tensions rise.
💣 August 2012 – The first signs of instability:
🚨 Delayed salaries
🚨 No official explanations
🚨 Troubling rumors
❌ The channel is in danger.
🔌 When you disturb those in power, they simply turn off the tap…
📉 One by one, employees leave…
🤝 Me? I stay.
💪 The last one standing with BOS.
