SATHAPANA Limited, Myanmar is the Microfinance Institution that was established in January 2015 by MARUHAN Investment Asia Pte. SATHAPANA Limited obtained a Temporary License in June 2015 to operate a Microfinance Business in Myanmar with 15 million US$ dollars authorized capital. SATHAPANA begins its microfinance operations in August 2015 and obtained a Permanent License in July 2016. The US$ 5-m

illions capital injection was done in January 2020 to increase SATHAPANA’s authorized capital. And additional US$-5 million capital was injected again in October 2021 to strengthen SATHAPANA’s financial commitments. Now, total authorized capital of SATHAPANA Limited is 25 million USD. The name “SATHAPANA” is derived from SATHAPANA Bank Plc, which is one of the leading banks in Cambodia, born out of the merger between a bank (Maruhan Japan Bank Plc) and a leading microfinance institution (SATHAPANA Limited, Cambodia). The word “SATHAPANA” means “oo build or to construct” in the Khmer language. The subtle LOGO change is it represents mount Fuji, widely recognized as a symbol of Japan, where our shareholders are, and as a source of solidarity and harmony. The Hexagon rim of the crest represents the honeycomb structure of a beehive, the nature of ideal storage of valuable assets. Its strength is reinforced when multiple hexagons are placed next to one another, dispatching the company’s ability to service to its customer through its branch network. The crest also represents vault, or safety deposit box and five shades of blue are the reflections of the blue sky it is a sign of modernity and progress. Since the start of its operation, SATHAPANA Limited has been providing access to credit to more people, especially to poor and unbanked people living in rural areas, and contributing a lot to the development of the economy of Myanmar through financial inclusion. Our mission is “To empower entrepreneurs and to generate employments in order to upgrade their living standard through access to financial services in sustainable manner”. SATHAPANA Limited provides the access to affordable financial services to those, especially unbanked people, who are willing to start their new businesses, and expansion of their businesses. It shall promote all our endeavors to rural development and fight for poverty alleviation. SATHAPANA Limited has accomplished remarkable growth and achievements over the period, and today SATHAPANA Limited becomes as one of the leading microfinance institutions in Myanmar. SATHAPANA is the second-largest microfinance organization in Myanmar in terms of the number of borrowers and the third-largest microfinance organization in terms of the loan portfolio. As of September 2021 end data, SATHAPANA Limited is currently operating in 11 regions and states, 33 districts, 162 townships, 1681 wards and 18,005- villages/tracts in Myanmar, and providing affordable and sustainable financial services to 348,157 clients with 1,646 staff and 60 offices across Myanmar. Out of our total 348,157 clients, women's client participation is 268,233 (77%), and 84% of our clients are located in rural areas. Agricultural Loan (Including Husbandry) contributes 46.7% in total Myanmar loan portfolio. And total agricultural loan clients are 162,861 across Myanmar.
