Job Description
Strategic Finance Leadership
• Provide strategic financial leadership to support LOLC Myanmar’s business objectives, growth strategy, and longterm sustainability in the microfinance sector.
• Act as a key finance business partner to senior management by delivering insightful financial analysis, forecasts, and recommendations for informed decisionmaking.
• Translate corporate and Group-level financial strategies into effective local financial plans, policies, and ex*****on frameworks.
2. Funding Management & Treasury Oversight
• Plan, structure, and manage funding strategies to ensure adequate liquidity, optimal cost of funds, and alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee cash flow management, liquidity forecasting, and treasury operations to support lending activities and operational needs.
• Coordinate with local treasury teams, banks, lenders, and development partners for borrowings, repayments, and funding negotiations.
• Monitor foreign exchange exposure, interest rate risk, and funding-related financial risks, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
3. Financial Control & Governance
• Strengthen and maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring effective internal controls, segregation of duties, and compliance with governance frameworks.
• Ensure adherence to LOLC Group financial policies, microfinance regulations, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and local statutory requirements.
• Oversee financial audits, regulatory inspections, and internal control reviews, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
• Safeguard company assets through effective monitoring of financial processes and risk management practices.
4. Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting to management, shareholders, regulators, and Group headquarters.
• Review and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management accounts, and regulatory submissions.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, microfinance regulations, Central Bank directives, and other statutory obligations applicable to Myanmar.
5. Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management
• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting exercises, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational plans.
• Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and track financial KPIs to enhance performance monitoring, cost management, and profitability.
6. Financial Systems & Information Management
• Oversee the effective use, integrity, and enhancement of financial and management information systems, including core microfinance systems and ERP platforms.
• Ensure the accuracy, security, and reliability of financial data across all systems.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency, data quality, and internal controls.
7. Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization
• Support operational units by providing financial insights to improve efficiency, optimize costs, and enhance resource utilization.
• Review operational processes from a financial perspective and recommend improvements to strengthen productivity and cost discipline.
• Ensure prudent expenditure management while supporting business expansion and service delivery objectives.
8. Business Support & CrossFunctional Collaboration
• Provide financial guidance and advisory support to business units, operations, IT, risk, compliance, and HR teams.
• Participate in crossfunctional committees and projects to ensure financial implications are properly evaluated and managed.
• Support product development, branch expansion, and operational initiatives through financial feasibility and impact analysis.
9. Team Leadership & Capability Development
• Lead, coach, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance, technical competence, and professional standards.
• Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations within the finance function.
• Foster continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and alignment with LOLC Group values and best practices
Systems Implementation & Change Management
• Support finance aspects of new system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, including UAT, data validation, and user training.
• Participate in system change management initiatives to ensure minimal operational disruption and financial integrity.
• Assist in identifying system gaps and recommending enhancements from a finance and control perspective.
Capacity Building & Knowledge Sharing
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and onthejob training to finance and nonfinance staff on financial policies, controls, and reporting requirements.
• Support initiatives aimed at improving financial literacy and cost awareness across the organization.
• Contribute to succession planning and talent development within the finance function
Job Requirement
❖ Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance, with at least five years relevant experience preferably in the accounting field and ACCA/ CIMA .
❖ Age between 25 and 40 years old
❖ Strong accounting skill and computer skill (Excel, Word, etc.).
❖ Must have good interpersonal, analytical, strong team spirit, adaptability and flexibility
❖ Must have good planning skill, organizing skill and ability to manage and prioritize tasks
❖ Good written and oral communication skill in Myanmar and English.
❖ Able to work under minimum supervision / independently.
