Since the industrial revolution, many countries around the world, especially the more developed ones, have been increasingly contributing to the emission of carbon and other greenhouse gases.
Following these emissions, we have been witnessing devastating consequences on our planet. In caft, our carbon emission is the main cause of human-induced climate change, it contributes to urban air pollution, leads to toxic acid rain, contributes to the acidification oceans and exacerbates the melting of glaciers and polar ice.
Now, more than ever, it has become essential to act to limit the devastating impact of our carbon emissions on the planet. As a result, many countries around the world have pledged to reduce their carbon footprint to align with the UN agenda to achieve a climate-neutral world by 2050.
To do so, operators across sectors are encouraged, and sometimes penalized, to reduce their carbon emissions. Therefore, as real estate generates about 40% of total global emissions, the concept of green building was introduced. This concept encompasses several stakeholders, from contractors to funders.
That said, in the December edition of our monthly webinar series, we will be highlighting the role of finance providers (represented by Equity Crowdfunding Platforms) in promoting Green and Affordable Housing.
Our speakers for this event will be:
- Mr Umar Munshi (Co-founder of Ethis Global)
- Mr Mohamed Hamza Ghaouri - CSAA, CBA (Consultan at FINEOPOLIS & ALMAALI)
Join us in this edition to learn more about the green housing initiative, the role of funders as well as opportunities and challenges facing ECF platforms to promote green and affordable housing.
