Account Opening FAQ
Who can open an account with NSC?
If you're at least 18 years old and live in the EEA (European Economic Area) or anywhere in the world, you can open an account with us, regardless of your citizenship or financial history. Yes, you read that right. Anyone with an WORLDs address can apply.
How can I get a NSC account?
You need an invite to join NSC at the moment. Leave your email at the bottom of the page to get one. Once you have an invite it's easy! Just download the app and it will take you through the sign-up process. You simply need to be ready to take a photo of your ID document and another of yourself. The app will take you through the whole thing, and you'll have a fully-functioning EU current account in a matter of minutes.
I don’t have a EU address. Can I still open an account?
Yes! That's what NSC is all about. We welcome all EEA and world residents, so you don't need to live in the EU to get an account with us.
I don't have a good credit rating. Can I still have an account with NSC?
Yes, you absolutely can! We don't run credit checks, so you can have an account with us whatever your financial history.
What is an unverified account?
If you find a message in the app that says your account is unverified, it means that we couldn't verify your identity fully and your account has certain limits. But don't worry, you can verify your account any time for free. With an unverified account you can:
Hold and make card payments and cash withdrawals for up to €1,750 a year;
Make card transactions and use your card to shop online for up to €700 a day;
Withdraw cash up to €300 a day;

Why do I have an Unverified Account?
Law requires us to obtain proof of information and during you sign up we couldn’t verify one or more of your details. There are many ways you can obtain a full account and we can help find the easiest way for you.
Why am I not allowed to transfer money out of the account?
This is a feature for verified account users. We would need to see some further proof of identity before allowing such activity.
How do I upgrade to a verified account?
We need to see proof of an address to upgrade to a full account. This needs to show your name against your current address. We accept a number of different documents that you can simply take a photo of within your app. Once the document is received we will validate the information and upgrade your account.
What type of documents can I provide?
We accept a number of documents. We accept bank statements from all over the world, plus utility bills and home telephone bills (not mobile bills). We have a set list of valid documents however we will be flexible about what we accept. If you cannot provide any of these feel free to contact us with what you have and we can advise you accordingly. Depending on what country you are located in, you may find your Drivers license or National ID shows your address.
I simply cannot provide any proof of address. What do I do?
We do need some proof of address, however, we can make exceptions in certain cases. Please advise us of your situation and we can assist further. You have an unverified account that allows you to spend up to €1750. You could either obtain some form of documentation during this time.
