Banking Institute of Liberia Inc - Oakwood Knowledge Academy!

Following an introductory meeting between BIL & Oakwood knowledge Academy held by the Bloom Bank Africa Liberia Limited which is meant for partnering and fostering capacity building in Liberia, creating sustainable skills and professional growth.

On April 16,2026 the two instructions interacted on the ground of BIL welcoming and embracing two strengths to achieve a common impactful goal.

📢 New CBL Policy Now in Effect

Effective today, Monday, April 13, 2026, all commercial banks across Liberia will ensure that at least 1% of every Liberian dollar cash withdrawal is paid in coins.
This initiative by the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) is aimed at:

✔️ Strengthening the circulation of coins
✔️ Improving everyday transactions
✔️ Reducing overreliance on paper money
💡 Remember: Coins are legal tender and should be accepted for all transactions nationwide.

Let’s all play our part—accept and use coins to support a more efficient and stronger Liberian economy 🇱🇷

The birthed of the Banking Institute of Liberia Inc was up in addressing gaps within the Liberia Banking sector. In so doing, it is prudent enough that needs are accessed while creating preventive measures in our sector.

However, the BIL amongst its many priorities by the mandate of Central Bank of Liberia -CBL and The Liberia Bankers Association is to traine employees from all commercial banks and the CBL

It is intended to close these gaps and overall save guide the banking sector.

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) under the amendment
and restatement of the Act Establishing the CBL 1999, and The New Payments System Law of
Liberia of 2014, and in line with the provisions of the CBL Automated Cheque
Processing/Automated Clearing House (ACP/ACH) System Rules, the Central Bank hereby issues the Directive Concerning the Transition from Manual Clearing to Automated Cheque Processing.
