🌿🔥 Scout Week Highlights – Negombo District 🔥🌿
Scout Week in the Negombo District was celebrated with enthusiasm, service, and unity throughout the week, reflecting the true spirit of Scouting.
🔹 Day 1 – Friendship Day
Scout Week commenced with a lively Friendship Campfire held at Maris Stella College, Negombo, bringing together 80 Scouts from different schools to promote fellowship, teamwork, and Scout brotherhood.
🔹 Day 2 – Rover & Adult Scouting Promotion Day
A Rover and Adult Scouting Promotional Workshop was conducted at the Negombo Scout Headquarters at district level, encouraging senior Scouts to continue their Scouting journey as Rovers and adult leaders.
🔹 Day 3 – Environmental Day (District Level)
In line with the Clean Sri Lanka Project, Scouts carried out a railway station cleaning program at Katunayake Railway Station with the participation of 25 Scouts, demonstrating responsibility towards the environment and public spaces.
🔹 Day 4 – Environmental Day (School Level)
Environmental activities were conducted at school level, including:
Mallawagedara Primary College – Cleaning program with 30 Cub Scouts
St. Nicholas International School – Tree planting program with 40 Cub Scouts
St. Peter’s College, Negombo Branch – Lagoon clean-up project with 55 Scouts
🔹 Day 5 – Religious Day
Religious and spiritual programs were held at several schools to nurture values of faith and discipline:
Maris Stella College – 55 Scouts
Udugampala Primary School – Bana Deshanawa & Parents’ Day with 27 Cub Scouts and 20 Singithi Scouts
St. Nicholas International School – 40 Cubs and Scouts
Loyola College – 340 Singithi Scouts
St. Mary’s College – Held at St. Mary’s Church with 10 Scouts
