Copal Amba Investment Analysis Training Program (IATP) is aimed at enhancing the knowledge of young capital markets practitioners in Sri Lanka. The IATP targets final-year graduates and budding professional accountants seeking employment in the capital markets industry. Participants will follow a real-life investment analysis cycle: analysing the competitive dynamics of a given industry, building
detailed earnings models that capture a high level of revenue/cost driver detail and establishing a defensible valuation range using multiple methods. The program is run by highly skilled capital markets practitioners and CFA charterholders. It has received accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as a continuous professional development program for membership.
“The SEC is pleased to endorse Copal Amba’s Investment Analysis Training Program. The program will act as a preliminary starting point for young Sri Lankan graduates looking to enter the capital markets industry. This kind of training will provide graduates with the requisite foundation skills to advance their employability within the industry. Industry training is a significant aspect of the SEC’s capital markets roadmap, and we are glad to recognise Copal Amba’s contribution to this goal.” - Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Chairman of the SEC
“The IATP provides insight into invaluable global best practices in investment research. Given the development of Sri Lanka’s equity and debt capital markets, creating a well-trained pool of investment research professionals capable of working with institutional investors, investment banks and other sell-side firms is of paramount importance.” - Chanakya Dissanayake, Country Head and Director of Copal Amba Colombo
