TIN Certificate is now required for selected transactions in Sri Lanka.

📅 Effective from 01 November 2026

A valid Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) Certificate will be required for transactions such as:

🏦 Opening a bank or financial account
🏠 Building plan approvals
🚗 Vehicle registration & license renewal
🌳 Land or title registration
🏢 Business registration
📑 Transfer of company shares
💳 Obtaining a credit card

1. Handwritten forms — the system does not accept them. Forms must be typed.
2. Wrong file format — PDF only. Nothing else is valid.
3. A missing signature — every director signs Form 18, the secretary signs Form 19.
