Statement by the General Manager,

MEAB Bank has been faithfully serving the people and businesses of Lebanon for more than three decades, supporting the country and its customers with the financial services necessary for a modern economy. A key part of MEAB Bank’s ability to continue throughout our turbulent times has been the Bank’s long-standing and productive relationships with domestic and international authorities, full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and a commitment to meeting the highest industry legal compliance standards. Providing legitimate modern banking services in our region requires the trust and confidence of both the public and private sectors that can only be earned by continuous transparency and accountability, and MEAB Bank is proud of its decades-long success in establishing that trust and confidence. MEAB Bank, like any successful business, faces unfriendly actors who seek to disparage our work. We have recently learned of some unfounded statements circulating in fringe social media outlets that try to undermine MEAB Bank’s reputation. I, along with every member of our board and every executive and manager of the Bank, categorically reject these false and defamatory accusations. MEAB Bank remains committed to the best banking and compliance practices and we very much look forward to continuing to serve the people and businesses of Lebanon in accordance with the highest legal and ethical standards.

لقد قام بنك MEAB بخدمة شعب لبنان ومؤسساته على مدار أكثر من ثلاثة عقود بكل أمانة، حيث دعم البلاد وعملاءه من خلال تقديم الخدمات المالية الضرورية لاقتصاد عصري. وكان أحد العوامل الرئيسية التي مكّنت البنك من الاستمرار خلال الفترات الصعبة هو علاقاته الطويلة والفعالة مع السلطات المحلية والدولية، والتزامه الكامل بجميع القوانين والأنظمة المعمول بها، وحرصه الدائم على الالتزام بأعلى معايير الامتثال القانوني في القطاع المصرفي.

إن تقديم خدمات مصرفية حديثة ومشروعة في منطقتنا يتطلب نيل ثقة القطاعين العام والخاص، وهي ثقة لا تُكتسب إلا من خلال الشفافية والمساءلة المستمرتين، ويفتخر بنك MEAB بنجاحه الممتد لعقود في ترسيخ هذه الثقة والمصداقية.

وكأي مؤسسة ناجحة، يواجه بنك MEAB بعض الجهات المغرضة التي تسعى إلى تشويه عمله. وقد علمنا مؤخرًا بوجود تصريحات لا أساس لها من الصحة تنتشر عبر بعض وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي الهامشية، وتهدف إلى النيل من سمعة البنك. إنني، إلى جانب جميع أعضاء مجلس الإدارة وكافة المدراء التنفيذيين والإداريين في البنك، نرفض بشكل قاطع هذه الادعاءات الكاذبة والتشهيرية.

يظل بنك MEAB ملتزمًا بأفضل الممارسات المصرفية والامتثال، ونحن نتطلع بكل ثقة إلى مواصلة خدمة شعب لبنان ومؤسساته وفقًا لأعلى المعايير القانونية والأخلاقية.
