Wall Street is making a big mistake by overlooking the possibility that U.S.-China trade talks could fail, says BNY Mellon’s chief strategist. ⠀

▪️Since President Trump’s threat of new tariffs on May 5, stocks have been on a roller-coaster ride. The S&P 500 is down 4% and the Dow has fallen around 3.5%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq is off more than 6%.⠀

▪️“I think it gets worse before it gets better,” BNY Mellon’s Alicia Levine said. “The trade war is turning into a tech war, and this could go on longer. It could be deeper, and it could be harder to come up with a resolution.”⠀

Nobody knows the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the computer programmer who invented bitcoin.⠀

That's because the name—Satoshi Nakamoto—is a pseudonym. It could represent a man, a woman, or even a group of people.⠀

Experts agree that uncovering Nakamoto's identity could have an immense impact on bitcoin's economics and internal politics.⠀

That's because Nakamoto has the power to tank the currency if he wants to.⠀

It is estimated that Nakamoto accumulated around a million bitcoins before disappearing. Today, that stash is worth millions. ⠀

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell hard Tuesday -- at one point more than 600 points -- as investors gauged the possibility of heightened trade tensions between the world's two biggest economies. Wall Street's concerns stem from tweets by President Trump over the weekend and on Monday that the pace of trade talks between Washington and Beijing were not advancing quickly enough and that he intended to increase tariffs to 25 percent from the current 10 percent on $200 billion of Chinese goods, a move he said he would take effect on Friday.
