According to recent study "Banking on Women Leaders: A Case for More?" published in September 2017, women occupied less than 2% of bank CEOs positions, and less than 20% of the board seats in more than 80% of the observations across banks over time. Econometric analysis suggests that the presence of women as well as higher share of women on bank boards is associated with greater bank stability and lower nonperforming loans.
