📅 Tuesday, August 25, 2026

It was a meaningful day for our JB Bank foreign financial centers in Ulsan and Daegu. 😊

Vice President Yang Kwang-young visited the two locations and spent time meeting with the teams working closely with foreign customers in each region.

During the visit, we also had a valuable marketing training session where we shared practical ideas, discussed our local activities, and exchanged views on how we can communicate more effectively with foreign residents in Korea. 🤝

It was a great opportunity for our teams in Ulsan and Daegu to learn together and strengthen our connection across the regions.

Thank you to Vice President Yang Kwang-young for visiting our centers and sharing valuable guidance and encouragement with us. 🙏

We will continue meeting foreign customers in our communities and doing our best at every JB Bank location. 😊

🇰🇷✈️ **KOREA TRAVEL UPDATE | HIGHER FUEL SURCHARGES THIS SEPTEMBER**

Planning to visit the Philippines from Korea during the coming **Ber Months**? 🇵🇭🎄 Please check the total airfare carefully before booking.

Due to continued tensions involving the United States and Iran, uncertainty in the Middle East, and higher international oil and aviation fuel prices, **fuel surcharges for international flights departing from Korea will increase in September 2026.** ⛽📈

Filipinos traveling home may use several routes connecting Korea and the Philippines, including:

🇵🇭 Incheon–Manila
🇵🇭 Incheon–Cebu
🇵🇭 Incheon–Clark
🇵🇭 Incheon–Bohol
🇵🇭 Incheon–Kalibo
🇵🇭 Busan–Manila
🇵🇭 Busan–Cebu

For those living in Busan or Gyeongnam, there are fewer choices for Busan–Manila flights compared with Incheon–Manila. ✈️ Because of this, some travelers go to Incheon Airport first when they find a cheaper ticket or a more convenient flight schedule to the Philippines.

💡 **Important:** Fuel surcharges are not the same for every airline.

The surcharge for your flight from Korea to the Philippines may also be different from the amount charged on your return flight from the Philippines to Korea. It depends on the airline, departure country, route, and applicable surcharge policy.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This can be especially important for families. A small additional charge for one passenger can become a much bigger expense when several family members travel together. Taxes, return-flight charges, airport transportation and other fees should also be considered when comparing tickets.

🎄 September also marks the beginning of the **Ber Months**, a very special season for Filipinos when Christmas, family and thoughts of home begin to feel closer.

🙏 We hope that peace and stability will come to Iran and the Middle East from October onward, that fuel and airfare pressures will ease, and that Filipinos living and working overseas can visit their families back home during the Ber Months without being heavily burdened by expensive travel costs. 🇵🇭❤️

For Filipinos in Korea—whether you are staying under an **E-9, E-7, F-6, F-2, F-5, D-2, D-4 or other visa status**—it may be worth comparing several airlines, departure airports and travel dates before purchasing your ticket. ✈️💺

🇰🇷 KOREA IMMIGRATION UPDATE | EMPLOYMENT VISA SYSTEM MAY CHANGE

🛂 Korea is preparing to simplify its employment visa system so it can be easier for foreign workers and employers to understand.

At present, Korea has several E-series employment visas, from E-1 to E-10. According to the Ministry of Justice, the current system has become complicated because different visa categories were added over time depending on the needs of industries and educational sectors.

Under the proposed reform, the government is considering reorganizing the current E-series employment visa system into three broader groups based mainly on skill level:

👨‍🔬 High-skilled workers
For highly professional or technical jobs such as researchers, doctors, engineers, and other specialists.

🧑‍🔧 Middle-skilled workers
For workers with specific technical skills, training, qualifications, or work experience.

👷 Lower-skilled workers
For jobs that generally require a lower level of professional or technical qualification.

The Ministry of Justice says the goal is to simplify the current structure of 10 employment visa categories and 39 detailed types.

🏭 Industry may also become more important.

The government’s example includes sectors such as:

💻 ICT & Digital
🏥 Medical & Welfare
⚖️ Law & Education
🏭 Manufacturing
🛎️ Service Industries
🎨 Culture & Arts

This means that in the future, Korea may look more closely at both your skill level and the industry where you work when deciding employment visa categories.

⚠️ IMPORTANT FOR FOREIGN WORKERS

This does NOT mean that E-1 to E-10 visas have already been cancelled or replaced.

✅ Your current E-series visa does not suddenly change.
✅ Existing visa rules continue to apply for now.
✅ This is part of a planned reform of Korea’s immigration and employment visa system.
✅ Wait for official government announcements before making any visa-related decision.

For foreign workers living in Korea, especially those with E-series visas, it will be important to keep checking future announcements from the Ministry of Justice. 🇰🇷🌏

[KOREA SUNDAY NEWS]
MULTICULTURAL CHILDREN’S CAMP / CIVIL RIGHTS COMMISSION / 2027 VISA POLICY

👧👦 JB Financial Group held a special camp at the Jeongeup Aurum Campus to support children from multicultural families and provide them with opportunities to explore their future.

💰📚 The program included financial and economic education, career exploration, science-related lectures, and interactive talk concerts. The camp was designed to give children a wider range of learning experiences while highlighting the social role of finance.

👷‍♂️🇰🇷 In another development, Korea’s Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission addressed a case involving a foreign worker who lost the opportunity to extend their employment period because of an employer’s mistake.

The Commission expressed the view that when the worker was not responsible for missing the application period, an opportunity to continue working should be considered, provided it does not conflict with the Employment Permit System or immigration regulations. ⚖️🤝

🛂 Meanwhile, Korea’s Ministry of Justice Immigration authorities are preparing changes to the employment visa system.

The planned reform would move away from a system mainly based on “permitted occupations” and place greater emphasis on factors such as:

🏭 Industry
🧑‍🔧 Skill level
💰 Wage level

The current E-series employment visa structure, including E-1 through E-10, is also being reviewed for possible reorganization into three broader categories based on skill level. The government is preparing the changes with implementation discussions expected during the first half of 2027. 📅

For foreign residents and workers in Korea, visa and employment policies may gradually change, so it is important to continue checking official announcements from the relevant Korean authorities. 🇰🇷🌏
