KRX Atrium Hall, crowded with people who consider listing their companies on KOSPI Market

The trading hours of the regular session of KRX Markets(equity/derivatives/commodities) will be extended by 30 minutes from August 1, 2016. Off-hours session of the equity market will be shortened by 30 minutes so the closing time will be the same as 18:00.

To promote global investors’ convenience in terms of investment, the Korea Exchange(KRX, Chairman and CEO. Dr. Kyungsoo Choi) announced that it will strongly encourage listed companies to do disclosure of more items in English and rectify the present information asymmetry.

Global investors have asked Korean companies to do disclosure in English along with their increasing amount of investment. KRX expects that global investors will be able to invest in Korea’s capital market more easily and the ex*****on of shareholders’ rights will increase as well.

To induce more companies to follow this measure, KRX will announce 169 English Disclosure Leading Companies out of a total of 770 KOSPI Market companies. These companies will be selected considering their necessity and capability of English disclosure. KRX will actively encourage these companies to do English disclosure especially on the 174 selected items among all the 374 disclosing items. These disclosing items chosen by the usefulness of the information are composed of mandatory disclosing items and voluntary disclosing items related to business performance.

KRX will also designate and announce English Disclosure Leading Companies and Model Cases to encourage companies to disclose in English as much as possible. The designated leading companies will be given the same incentives which are given to the leading disclosure companies. They will also have benefit in case of a fine is imposed of them for unfaithful disclosure.

The leading companies and selected 174 items will be announced in May 2016 and the incentive system will be enforced in 2017.

'Invest in Uzbekistan' was held at KRX Seoul office on April 28th. About 300 investors attended to seek investmemt opportunity in Uzbek's state-owned companies like Uzneftegaz, Uzbuildmaterials, Uzkimyosanoat, Uzavtosanoat... 53 major Uzbek state-owned companies came here to promote their growth potential and had 1 on 1 meeting with Korean investors. KRX also held a brief session on challenges and advantages of being listed on KOSPI or KOSDAQ market.

Implementation of Single Price Auction for Super Low Liquidity Issues during Regular Session

The Korea Exchange (KRX) has decided to change the trading method for super low liquidity issues during the regular trading hours from continuous trading with multiple prices to the single price auction with 10 minute interval in order to improve the convenience of trading. It will be implemented on June 27, 2016.

New Listing of ARIRANG Smart Beta LowVOL ETF Managed by Hanwha Asset Management Co.

The Korea Exchange (KRX) listed ARIRANG Smart Beta LowVOL ETF, managed by Hanwha asset management co.
in the KOSPI market on January 12, 2016.
This ETF tracks the return rate of 'Wise Smart Beta Low VOL index' which consists of 50 shares with low volatility among stocks in KOSPI market.

KRX Published KOSPI 200 Total Return Index Series

The Korea Exchange (KRX) has developed four KOSPI 200 Total Return index series, which reflect not only gains from the stock price but the income from dividend, and announced these series on January 11, 2016.

KOSPI 200 Total Return Index is also calculated based on US Dollar as well as KRW for the convenience of foreign investors.
