[Loan Repayment Method – Equal Installment of Principal and Interest]

The Equal Installment (Principal + Interest) repayment method keeps the total monthly payment consistent throughout the repayment period. This structure can make it easier to manage regular expenses because the repayment amount remains predictable from the first installment to the last.

For example, if you borrow ₩6,000,000 for 10 months at an annual interest rate of 15%, the loan is repaid through fixed monthly installments. During the early months, a larger portion of each payment goes toward interest because the outstanding principal is still relatively high.

As repayments continue, the remaining principal gradually decreases. Since interest is calculated based on the outstanding balance, the interest portion becomes smaller month by month. At the same time, a larger share of each fixed payment goes toward reducing the principal.

Although the proportion of principal and interest changes throughout the 10-month repayment period, the total monthly installment remains consistent until the final repayment. This method may be useful for borrowers who prefer predictable monthly obligations and a clear repayment schedule.

Actual monthly payments and total interest may vary depending on the lender’s calculation method, payment dates, repayment conditions, and other loan terms.

✅ Fixed monthly installments can make budgeting and repayment planning more predictable.

✅ The interest portion gradually decreases as the remaining loan balance becomes smaller.
