Latest Developments in Cambodia’s Cashew Industry
🏭 Unique Noble Trading broke ground on a new cashew processing plant in Kampong Thom on 17 December 2024. The facility, set to begin operations in March 2025, will process 30 tonnes daily, with an annual output ranging between 5,000 and 12,000 tonnes.
💼 A $12M cashew processing plant by CSNC Agriculture, a Cambodian-Singaporean joint venture, is also set to begin production in March 2025. Covering 12,000 sqm, the facility will process 40 tonnes daily (approximately 12,000 tonnes annually) and target exports to China, Europe, the UAE, and the US.

• Cambodia ranks 3rd globally for cashew cultivation, with 580,117 hectares under cultivation. Yields average 1.5 tonnes/ha, with some areas reaching 4 tonnes/ha.
• In the first 10 months of 2024, Cambodia produced 840,000 tonnes of cashews (+26% YoY).
• Over 790,000 tonnes were exported to Vietnam, generating $1.11B (+36% YoY), making Cambodia the world’s second-largest cashew exporter.
• Cambodia has 52 cashew processing plants: 6 medium-sized (7,000–14,000 tonnes annually) and 46 small-scale, family-run operations.
• The majority of processing facilities are located in Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Preah Vihear, and Tboung Khmum provinces.
