EKV Group is currently conducting Business Development Training for over 1,800 MSMEs across 9 counties in the Coastal and Northern Kenya regions.
These businesses cut across key value chains including Edible Oils, the Blue Economy, Construction, Dairy, Leather, and ICT.
Our teams are actively on the ground, currently in Kwale and Mombasa, having already completed successful sessions in Lamu, Kilifi, Garissa, Wajir, Tana River, and Mandera, with further counties lined up in this transformative rollout.
The KJET Programme is intentionally designed to strengthen MSME competitiveness by equipping entrepreneurs with practical skills, business tools, and market-driven strategies. This directly supports BETA’s mission of enhancing productivity, building rural prosperity, and empowering enterprises to scale sustainably.
Through this project, businesses are now better positioned to:
- Improve operational efficiency and financial discipline
- Access markets and integrate into structured value chains
- Strengthen compliance, governance, and business formalisation
- Create jobs and drive inclusive local economic growth
As the implementing partner, EKV Group is driving a holistic BDS approach that goes beyond training. We are:
- Delivering the 12-module KJET BDS curriculum with practical, context-relevant insights
- Supporting entrepreneurs to diagnose gaps within their enterprises and co-create actionable growth plans
- Strengthening MSMEs’ capacity to withstand shocks, diversify revenue streams, and optimise their business models
- Enhancing cluster competitiveness by encouraging collaboration, collective efficiency, and shared market opportunities
Our mission is simple: equip entrepreneurs with the tools to thrive-not just survive-in a rapidly evolving economy.
Over the coming weeks, we will spotlight the real challenges MSMEs are grappling with—from access to capital, market linkages, and input costs to governance gaps and digital transformation hurdles.
More importantly, we will share how our team is working hand-in-hand with entrepreneurs to address these issues through practical interventions, coaching, and ecosystem partnerships.
