Youths are the primary engine of modern economic growth, but their potential is heavily bottlenecked by structural unemployment and skills mismatches.The young people of Vihiga have made it clear ,' We will be at the business table not on the menu'.
Led by our chair Dr. Billy Nyonje HSC and graced by Centre for International Private Enterprises( CIPE) country's manager Marko Tomicic we successfully held our youth in business dinner at Equator Resort where the young entrepreneurs, got an opportunity to network ,share ideas experiences and challenges in business , available opportunities for them both nationality and at county level which will go along way of improving their businesses in return curb the unemployment issue.
The young people of Vihiga have great potential of growth based on testimonies given and equipped knowledge received.
In attendance were county government officials department of trade , Bungoma chapter chair John Wafula Sunguri and together with Nandi counter part chair Mr. Elly Chepkwony and several other invited guests.

True representation comes through constant and having meaningful engagements and consultation with different stakeholders more so the government. Our end goal is to see the environment for SMEs business growth is friendly.
Through the guidance of our Chair Dr. Billy Nyonje- HSC together with the chamber board and secretariat team, we paid a courtesy visit to Vihiga county government boss Dr. Wilber Ottichilo ,to seek more clarification on pending bills and other businesses related matters for our members and give invites to grace our youths in Business events scheduled on 7th August at Equator resort Gambogi.
The governor gave a positive response which will go along way in helping us attend to the needs of our members.

Everything starts at planning in a boardroom. Then follows ex*****on.
In the spirit of ensuring the business environment in Vihiga remains conducive for SMEs to thrive ,our chapter chair Dr. Billy Nyonje today spearheaded a special board meeting to deliberate on progress the charter has made,both our successful stories and failures to enable us effectively and efficiently serve our members.

It was noted with a lot of concern that the issue of pending bills and capital flight is still a major problem affecting our members growth in Vihiga. The board unanimously agreed to pursue the matter with the relevant department to see members concerns are attended to. Bare in mind auctioneers are much on members neck due to delayed payments.

The chair urged the board to remain strong and united in advocating for business growth in Vihiga.

The meeting was held at Roddys hotel in Ebuyangu Luanda.
