Ereto Bookshop was started in 1979 as a small bookshop in Narok town. At the time Narok as a district was slowly awakening to the serious need for education of its children. Its therefore due to the low demand for books within the town that the proprietor of Ereto bookshop started seeking for business outside the district and in other much developed towns. Through aggressive marketing he eventuall
y started a marketing office in Nakuru town that eventually grew to become a bookshop when Ereto finally shifted to Nakuru town in 1981. Ereto therefore entered the Nakuru market as a small bookshop in a rented premise opposite Electricity House competing among well established bookshops in the main streets of the town. With much determination, aggressive marketing and a lot of hard work, Ereto slowly established itself as a preferred supplier of both textbooks and stationeries to schools, colleges, companies and other institutions. Having found its place amongst other major bookshops within the town, the proprietor of Ereto bookshop has never looked back again, and its growth has never slackened at all. The latest uniforms department that was recently started has been received by all our customers with a lot enthusiasm and is promising to be a major attraction in the coming season. This growth has also seen the increase of our staff from the one man bookshop to the current staff establishment of over 40 employees. Ereto Bookshop is also the proud owner of the prestigious Ereto Plaza in the heart of Nakuru town. This is a ten floor building that house major companies (Safaricom, KIM), financial institutions (Faulu Bank, SMEP, Old Mutual) and NGOs (PSI, Mercy Corp) among others. Currently Ereto Bookshop is undertaking an ambitious expansion program that is aimed at making it a unique one stop school shopping for both the pupils and institution. When finally completed, the program will see the expansion of all existing departments as well as introduction of new ones to sell school beddings and toiletries, shoes and related items and all other requirements for schools and pupils. Having completed the first face of this program we are very optimistic of the final impact that we eagerly look forward to. The growth of Ereto Bookshop to what it is today has been without challenges. We are indeed grateful to our many partners who have believed in us and given us both moral and business support in the times that we really needed it. Our God has truly been gracious to us. We have seen his faithfulness; favour and blessing that have lifted us to the status we have. To this great God be the Glory, Honour and Majesty.
