IFC, A member of the World Bank Group, through its SME Ventures program, and the World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Practice, in collaboration with the East Africa Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) are pleased to invite you to the virtual launch of the Assessment Report on the Private Equity and Venture Capital regulatory ecosystem in Ethiopia on October 28, 2020 at 3:00pm - 4:000pm (EAT).

The assessment was carried out over 2018/2019 to provide both an informative survey of Ethiopia’s venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) landscape and proposals on areas where the Ethiopian Government can achieve a demonstrable impact on the sector's development through legal, regulatory, and taxation policy. The study offers policymakers and regulators insights and analyses to help catalyze growth in Ethiopia’s venture capital and private equity (VCPE) market.

The assessment was financed by IFC’s Disruptive Technology and Funds Department and conducted by the World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Practice.

We welcome you to join the panel of speakers; Shanthi Divakaran (World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Practice); Ashenafi Alemu (Zoscales Partners), Mesfin Tafesse (MTA) and Shruti Chandrasekhar & Sam Akyianu from the IFC’s Disruptive Technology and Funds department; with an interactive segment for Q&A.
