Kenyans are in fear of slipping into bankruptcy as a individuals and as a country.Any home or country can slip into bankruptcy if the residents are not conscious on serious wealth creation and its protection. This means insolvency of a country starts from insolvency of our homes, villages, counties and ultimately the country. Our governors should know,if their counties are insolvent, then its a red flag that our country may become insolvent one day. They should know, resources are in the grassroot. If these resources are given the required attention, triggered to maximum productivity ,the counties will be self sufficient without burdening the central government. Our governors should update their mindset and think in the 21st century thinking. They should shed colonial mentality of controlling all resources and the constituents become beggars .They should set focus to every homestead ,encourage every home to be maximumly productive.Resources in every home should be mobilised maximumly. They should look for markets for the fruits of homesteads productivity to avoid wastage. If hometeads becomes solvent ,villages will follow suit and counties will fly economically.Every village should have as many cottage industries as possible,to attract wealth and create employment. Money sent to our grassroots is enough to JumpStart our industrial takeoff.Governors should focus on exporting their goods and services to other counties and countries. The main focus should be China, which has over a billion people. The counties should be competing how many goods and services they are exporting and hence creating jobs. Our youths are idle and jobless amidst so much resources .If we can focus in agribusiness, farming, poultry farming, cattle rearing, rabbit rearing, donkey rearing etc and embrace value addition in all these sectors of all products we can go far.But when governors focus on lavish spending on luxuries like big cars and palatial homes, huge salaries ,greed and corruption and also hoodwinking people that they will provide free things to the masses we will face eminent bankruptcy and eternal slavery from strategising countries like China.

Most of the businesses in our country are suffering due to minimal currency circulation. This had been triggered by our obsession of politics instead of economics and introduction of law to curb maximum interest rate to be charged by our financial institutions. The later, seemingly was good but it was a sweetened arsenal which is flattening small and medium businesses. To curb interest rates was a noble and recommendable idea but its timing was poor.To incubate this noble idea, the government has to mobilize the citizens from grassroots, into clusters of economic groups, encourage them to create jobs, save, borrow from each other and hence create miniature banks. These banks should be consolidated and form one bigger bank. The leaders of these groups and banks should be people guided by African philosophy and minimal western ideologies of over exploitation. An African with humane approach, is devoid of greed and too much materialism and his actions will be geared to benefit majority of the society members with minimal exploitation. To rejuvenate ,the businesses in ICU,the government should urgently scrap this law of curbing interest rates. This will encourage the exploitative banks to release loans to the masses, more capital will circulate in the economy and economy will start recovering. The central bank, should act urgently to advice the central government on this. Without credit in the economy, its like expecting to be alive without blood flowing in your body systems . Credit availability will catapult the resilient Kenyans to recover the wasted time in politicking and pleading with banks to provide cheap loans. For Kenya to develop, each and every village should provide enough industries cm avenues for employing their people ,without relying on their neighboring village and this should also be replicated in credit provision to promote those industries. Our people should further be encouraged to embrace entrepreneural traits so that we can unlock our potential as Kenyans.

Our governors should wake up and develop our villages with minimal reliance on the central government. Its good for them to know all unexploited resources are in the grassroot waiting to be exploited. The masses may not be aware of these resources amidst them but if our leaders fall in the same pit of blindness ,as a country we are doomed. A visionary governor is the one focusing to maximumly exploit the available resources to create wealth. This will lead to empowerment of their people and minimum expectation from the central government to be assisted. To develop grassroots does not require tons of resources but visionary and focused mind. These leaders should simply awaken the masses to be productive and assist them with the modern technologies and practices in their production. Examples of how to awaken the masses are as follows, encourage each and every household to rear at least 500 kienyenji chicken(the government should assist in provision of cheap and quality feeds). In the marketing front, the county government should buy the eggs and feed the children in schools(become first consumers),then export any excess to other counties or countries. Another, idea which should be embraced is rabbit keeping, each homestead should have at least 100 at a given time. From this manufacture sausages to be consumed by among others our local children.Bee keeping is another industry which should be encouraged.Honey has medicinal benefits to all starting with our children. From these examples, you can imagine how many industries/jobs we can create in the whole chain. These are only but examples.Ideas are as many as there are people. Governors should encourage creation of jobs through cottage industries as the National government do so through industrial parks.Over reliance of industrial parks alone to solve joblessness will fail terribly. All creative ideas should be harnessed to help in jobs creation.Governors dont let us down solutions to our problems are with us but you have to use your creative faculty.

As the governors continue to be sworn in,its good for them to know the real challenge ahead of them. The living, the dead and generations to come are expecting them to do exemplary good. They should desist from promising of free things amidst laziness and inactivity amongst their constituents. The successful governor will be the one who will mobilize the people to be industrious and expect minimum free things. The people should be captains of their own ships.Everyone should strive to provide food on the table and also create maximum wealth. The governors should act as facilitators. As facilitators, they should ,together with their constituents, spot the various industries they can JumpStart or develop to higher levels in their areas of jurisdiction. Central focus should be agri business and value addition chain.Encourage youth and any other literate persons to research over the internet how they can harness various resources around them to create wealth. For instance, how highland arrow root technology from KARI,works ,modern ways of sweetpotatoes production, modern ways of cassava production etc and all industries which can be developed from them.In addition, develop industries like rabbit keeping and their related industries.Borrow a leaf from organizations like Rabbit republic, Rabbit millionaires project,Alcare etc.Further, embrace poultry keeping including geese and turkey keeping and their related industries, bee keeping and their related industries, cattle keeping and their related industries,to name but a few. If they can concentrate on various industries mobilizing people, providing facilitation and assisting in marketing of the value added products, unemployment will become outdated. Each county should strive to be self suffiency in food provision, essential services provision, job creation etc with minimal expectation from the central government or donors. Any governor who falls short of this will be a deservice to the three groups I had mentioned at the top.Key to all these is provision of water and electricity to our villages(the central government has done marvelous) so its the duty of governors to facilitate establishing of various industries in their areas. To crown it all,all the leaders should encourage Kenyans to learn about serious entrepreneurship by embracing financial education(study of money, entrepreneurship and investing.)

Most businesses are suffering from shortage of cash which have emanated from cash crunch in the economy. Many businesses as well as their customers are suffering from this manmade problem. Our financial institutions decided to punish Kenyans by denying them credit after the government controlled the maximum interest rates which can be charged to Kenyans. In the current world economies,if you withdraw credit from the economy ,there are high chances of economy collapsing.Any economy is based on tenets of borrowing and paying of credit. Our financial institutions, claims that they cannot make any profit if they lend at 14% .They alleges that most Kenyans are dangerous or risky to be charged too low interest rates like 14%.Westernization engulfed them and left their parent clients at the mercy of the world.Westernization engulfed them and disowned their parent clients who had helped them to grow from infant institutions to mega institutions. Suprisingly, the institution which embraced the above new guidelines (coop bank) is opening more branches, disbursed more loans whereas others are retrenching and reducing their branches. This proves that Kenyans arenot risky . To counter this economic sabotage from local and international capitalists, the government should move with speed and form a mega bank like the proposed Biashara bank. All the Kenyans should be encouraged to save and borrow with this bank ,adhering to the government guidelines of interest rates. For this noble idea to succeed, the tedious bureaucracy of the government should be avoided in its operations. The directors of this bank should be people who have strong convictions of Africans solving their problems and not mere copycating of western ideologies. This is what is killing our people as well as institutions.Further, to avoid brick and mortar premises, the bank should adopt technology and agency model(like mpesa). All 47 counties should have branches or agencies and lastly they should embark on training All Kenyans on serious entrepreneurship to avoid pitfalls of the current financial institutions. As a continuation from the previous post, our governors and other grassroot leaders should take charge of our grassroot economy as the national government takes care of intercountries trade. They should know ,the engine of any economy are the current and future youth of the respective county. When the drugs taking cyclone engulfs the youth, the county or country's economy is at risk.Today, we are struggling to make the youth to keep off drugs, including alcoholic drinks. The rain started beating us when we allowed spiced up advertisements encouraging people to take drugs like alcoholic drinks, that is when we dug our own grave. We are in the grave, and only quick measures will save us from this lethal cyclone. This is a business, though legal, should be contolled and restricted ,not the current trend where every standing plot in our estates have a bar or a wines and spirit den.Its economically suicidal. The second suicidal move was to embrace gambling as free business in our society. This is a young venture but it will have devastating repercussions in future. Our people are being encouraged to be lazy ,less creative and innovative, use minimal capital and become instant millionaires by a click of a button. To understand the lethalness of this business, let us briefly explore how other countries take it.In US,out of over 50 states only 23 states allow some form of gambling. In other states its illegal to gamble. In mainland China, gambling(online and offline) is prohibited and only in Hongkong and Macau islands who allow certain forms of gambling and they also discourage online (digital) gambling, you have to visit casinos if you want to gamble. In India, gambling is highly restricted and if its there, its offline(casinos)betting involving sports like horse racing, cricket and lottery. In India ,foreign investments involving gambling are illegal. In Japan, gambling is banned except betting on horse racing and motor sports. Our leaders should know, when you use shortcuts to create wealth, you embrace laziness, you kill creativity and hence you become a subject of luck. This is suicidal to our counties and country at large.......To be continued. Our society should encourage serious financial education(Study of money, entreprenuership &investing)For more articles visit, www.brainsfinancialacademy.co.ke

Our governors and other leaders should encourage our youth to create jobs .They should avoid the fallacy of creating millions of jobs to the youth and promising goodies of free things to the society. The script of free things without a good base of sound and well planned economy is unsustainable. We should face our youth with facts, tell them to venture in agri businesss, talent related businesses, venturing in business, technology based knowledge etc.We all assist each other to create jobs.No government will create enough jobs for its people without active participation of its people in this endevour. These leaders should know their primary responsibility is to mobilize people to work or be maximumly productive in their area of jurisdiction. The primary aim being to put food on the table and secondly to create wealth. Each home, village, county etc should be self sufficient, without expecting any handouts from donors or central government. The threats to youth should be ear marked and controlled not to harm them. The biggest threat today being the liquor business and other drugs.Developed economies like China and India always restrict the consumption of such drugs through strict laws and adhering to cultural norms of the society. When a full generation submerges in drugs, the wealth Creation stagnates and hence people become poor and highly dependent on donors or government.Another threat to our economy is gambling ,but I will discuss this in the next post. For more articles or queries visit www.brains financial academy.co.ke

In my earlier post,I said that,Kenya is at take off stage.SGR(Madaraka Express,is officially launched, and it will be plying Nairobi and Mombasa towns. This is one of the gamechangers in this awaited takeoff stage of this beloved country. How can we benefit as Kenyans from this brand new project?. To harvest maximum wealth from this SGR,we have to see it with an exporters' perspective and minimumly from importers perspective. Our counties should compete to produce as many high quality goods and services for export as possible. This will guarantee enough foreign exchange to the country as well as counties. The governors and other leaders should map out the available resources in their counties. This may include tourist attraction packages(sceneries, our rich cultures, wildlife etc),natural resources like honey, gold, titanium ,coal, diatomite etc, agri business like milk production,Rabbits rearing, donkey keeping, poultry farming etc. Each and every county should compete to produce enough exports, most of which can be transported by rail to our harbours. These exports should promote initiation of small and big industries in our counties. The central government may concentrate to attract huge foreign direct investments but our counties should promote creation of industries in the grassroots. These industries should include both convectional and unconventional industries. For instance,a narok county governor should support the herbal medicines from that county, build herbal industries, package the herbal medicine for local use and for export. For us to develop we need to embrace all talents and knowledge available in our society. If we stick to only formal, industries we will take ages to develop.Any legal creativity should be embraced, anybody who has solutions to our problems should be embraced without bias. These solutions should be for our local consumption and for export.Let us move away from the belief that all our solutions can only come from wersten way of doing things. The Africans,Kenyans have pure, original and unexploited knowledge and ideas which can help in our civilization as a country, continent and the world at large. We should avoid a situation where the madaraka express will be a Chanel for flooding our market with rays of imports. In return we kill the existing small or big industries, export our jobs and hence kill our future.Let this rail help us harvest wealth from without the country,to strength the phrase "plenty be found within our borders". All these can only be midwifed by embracing serious financial education by the whole society(study of money, entrepreneurship&investing). To learn more visit www.brains financial academy.co.ke.

Kenya as a country is at take off stage economically,as an African leader ,as a global leader in many spheres ,all the signs are on the wall but most of our policy makers and Kenyans at large are unaware of this. This explains why some of us we are questioning the mega projects the central government is undertaking like SGR,expanding of Airports ,expanding our harbours ,our roads etc.Only the keen mind see the whole picture . A recent research has proved that ,we have over 77 precious minerals which are in our soils. This includes, first class oil in Turkana, gold in western Kenya and other areas,Titanium in coastal region, coal in ukambani, flourspar in Rift valley among others.Having this prior information, its responsibility of our policy makers to pen policies which will favour establishment of industries in our midst, which will utilise these minerals in value addition, instead of exporting the raw materials to more industrialized world. To trigger this awakening, our policy makers should tilt our education to focus both what we have on the land( rich and fertile soils) and what is below the surface( minerals and water). Our youth should be taught how to create industries out of those resources.Dont train them to become mere employees of those foreign investors. For instance,if its gold production, processing ,refining it and adding it value(rings, watches, necklaces, bangles, earlings),our children should be exposed to these extractive industries without delay, and I repeat they should be groomed as industry owners(employers) and not mere employees . To realize this,we need, sharp ,visionary and focused leaders.Noting that we have lived with so much resources on surface but we can show little in value addition and even our educated masses dont relate with those resources. They better go to work in Arab countries than utilize the rich ,natural resources in their midst and hence create wealth and employment in abundance. This means, time is catching up with us,we need a double sword policy,we train our people how to build industries using what is on the surface and also under the surface. To actualize this,we have to come out of colonial mentality of approaching our affairs.we should avoid too much bureacracy and copying and pasting education systems from other countries.we should analyze our needs and set our education based on those needs(present and future). Kenya, very soon will be used as tourist mecca of Africa and so those who are courting for tourists to this land should know this. They use this as a marketing tool to boost our tourism. All these information should not be a preserve for our bureaucrats ,all the citizens should know this. After internalizing these information they should work as ambassadors of their villages, counties, and ultimately the country. They should influence everyone they meet to visit their country, county, village and invest there and that should be our creed. To facilitate this, our people should be encouraged to embrace serious financial education(study of money, entrepreneurship &investing) .To read such articles visit www.brains financial academy.co.ke.

Prolonged drought spell has resulted to famine within and without our neighbouring countries. This is a wake up call to the central and county governments to up their game in provision of essential needs like water to the Kenyans. They should desist from waiting death to strike our people, crops or livestock for them to act. As a longterm measures to curb this perennial problem, rain water harvesting and sinking boreholes everywhere should be the pillar to solving this problem.Designers and architectures of our buildings in our towns or upcountry should be advised to design houses with underground water storage. To facilitate this, central or county governments can subside the cost of building such reservoirs and also build communal dams or waterpans to contain any excess running water. We can borrow this idea from those countries which have done it successfully. Secondly, our lawmakers should legislate a law which makes mandatory ,each of 290 constitutencies to buy at least one water drilling machine and its apparels. This will help in sinking as many bore holes or water aquifers( like the one discoverd in Turkana county)as possible all over the country. Our government and private laboratories,NEMA offices should be decentralized to test the suitability or salinity of that water. This water should be used for domestic use, irrigation ,industrial purposes among others depending on the outcomes of laboratory tests. The central government should utilize our under utilized manpower of the armed forces, national youth service, engineers from ministry of water, engineers from ministry of minerals and natural resources etc,to jump start this ambitious program of water provision and also training the locals to own and operate all the issues and machinery of those programs. This water provision program, combined with the central government' s effort in provision of electricity in every corner of Kenya can trigger our development .It would be work of our leaders in all spheres of our life to encourage our people to use that water for irrigation, livestock keeping, fish farming etc and further start small and large industries to add value to their produce from within or without their areas. Each and every homestead should be self sufficient in food provision, the village the same, county follow the same and in the long run the country should feed its people comfortably. Each county should have atleast 5 years food reserves and the central government should have at least 10 years food reserves. To succeed in this all traditional as well as exotic foods should be cultivated and preserved without bias or discrimination. These programs should be owned by the communities and not the governments. The governments should only supervise or facilitate .They should also encourage people to produce enough for consumption, for reserves and for export. This will be enabled by training our people serious financial education(study of money, entrepreneurship and investing). As the government and its policy makers feed us with the urgency of technical trainings through TVET flagship,we should explore this idea with an open mind to know,as people where could we be missing the mark to develop like the Asian tigers. In our society today,do we have technically savvy professionals, especially in Jua Kali sector?Yes, there are millions of them but the irony is,these young professionals, live in a sea of poverty because their products are rejected by all of us as we consume products from foreign countries, some of which are substandard.Take for instance,a tailor or a cobbler in your neighborhood,do you consume his or her wares? On the other hand, you may hear the government claiming that there are no enough shoemakers or tailors in the country and hence we cannot produce enough products for our local consumption and for export and hence we have to import the shortage. These artisans with a wealth of experience and knowledge, only require a link between them and the professionals in areas like KIRDI in south c,they share ideas and they will do wonders. In addition these artisans should be deployed in every constituency, and start cottage industries after training the locals in their expertise, under the help of the county and national governments. These goverments should not only focus on leather and textile industries only, all the potential industries and talents should be developed. This should include and not limited to herbal medicine, comedy industry(Churchill genre and others),drama industry(Hollywood style),painting and drawing, inborn talent of engineering etc. We should tap all the knowledge in the society and the government should provide policies to guide citizens how to turn any knowledge into business.Assist Juakali artisans to expand their businesses even before they invite for foreign direct investment(FDI).Otherwise ,if we dont see our development coming from within but without ,we will be lost in the wilderness of development. To learn Chinese technology in roads ,highways, building etc,we need not take our people to class, but deliberately inform chinese engineers to expose them to that technology and by the end of the day they will be experts. This further applies, to any new technology just expose our proffessionals(in formal and informal sectors.) to it and then they disseminate to the rest of the society. In other words, village polytechnics are outdated in the current life. These village polytechnics should be converted into garages, tailoring shops etc, where our youths will be learning practical application of the knowledge acquired and they further earn as they train.Otherwise, our youths will prefer to go to informal sectors like juakali for trainings as they earn instead of boring village polytechnics and further, our youth could be referred to these juakali artisans to train them. As we gear up to TVET,we should introduce the business aspect of showing our people how to develop industries from scratch to big industries, the aspect which most of our trainings (formal and informal)lack I.e serious financial education should be compulsory to all . Why is macro economics (national) doing well and micro economics( house holds) doing badly? The answer is simple,we dont have deliberate programs to empower our house holds. Its good to know,as Kenyans we should be consciously be harvesting wealth without our borders and guarding what is within our borders. This is well versed in our national anthem,"Plenty be found within our borders".We should be deliberately initiating and supporting our local industries. We should consume less from outside and consume more from within in addition we should export more than we import. This should be a deliberate and conscious move by each an every village, county etc.The performance indicators of our leaders should not be measured by the number of schools, hospitals, police posts etc they have constructed but the number of industries they have initiated from the locally available resources, for internal consumption or for export. Our schools and colleges should also compete to produce highly skilled employers and not employees.
China and India ,our leaders in imports, have huge populations and hence provide a wide market for any exports.Take for instance, donkey farming is today a lucrative industry after Chinese initiated slaughter house in Baringo. Now,its the work of our national and county governments to tap this jewel by encouraging as many farmers as possible to venture in this opportunity so as to match the demand. The fact is,this Chinese market had been there and we have been having the donkeys but our mind were in a cage of ignorance. How many such jewels are within our localities in dormant form?
We cannot have a favorable balance of payment through wishful thinking,we should consciously and deliberately intiate industries in our villages for local consumption and for export. We should exploit the above huge markets to position our products in the global market ,otherwise if we go to slumber we will be shown how.our products are superior compared to other products from some countries,we only need courage.
To fight lack of currency circulation, the government should counter the defiant banks by establishing and promoting goverment sponsored banks.Mobilize, the masses to pool resources through groups, merrygoround,Sacco's etc. They mobilize their resources, loan each other with minimal interests and if they require more services, they go to government sponsored banks. This can be enacted well in any place where there is an economic activity eg.gikomba market,Uhuru market, kamukunji market, city market stall,Kariakor market etc.To facilitate uptake of loans and repayments, the national and county governments should promote," buy Kenya build Kenya" slogan and discourage too much importation of locally produced products through higher taxation.Otherwise financial institutions will continue frustrating the government in its mission for cheaper credit. For further expansion of our opportunities,we should embrace any positive talents within our population and harness them, including drama, comedy, herbal medicine etc without discrimination of any given talent.we use them to build industries related to them.
