'Touching a Child’s Heart’ — the Waumini Sacco family across the country today proudly joined thousands of Kenyans in the Mater Heart Run 2026, standing in solidarity to support children suffering from heart-related conditions.
The Waumini Sacco team, comprising members of the Board of Directors and staff drawn from the Headquarters as well as the Nakuru, Mombasa, and Kisumu branches, participated in the nationwide event held in different venues including the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (Nairobi), Loreto Convent Mombasa, Lions High School Kisumu, and Nakuru Athletics Club.
The annual Mater Heart Run remains one of Kenya’s most impactful fundraising initiatives, aimed at raising funds to finance life-saving cardiac surgeries and treatment for children from underprivileged families at Mater Hospital.
Held this year on Saturday, May 23, 2026, the event brought together individuals, organizations, and communities in a united mission of giving hope and a second chance at life to vulnerable children battling heart disease.
What began years ago as a Nairobi-based initiative has since grown into a nationwide movement now held across eleven towns: Nairobi, Mombasa, Machakos, Kakamega, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nyeri, Kericho, Bomet, and Kirinyaga. Waumini Sacco remains proud to be part of this noble cause that continues to touch and transform countless young lives.
