Stanbic Bank Kenya, through its women-focused proposition DADA by Stanbic, was proud to participate in the recently concluded 2nd Women Engineers Summit in Nakuru. The three-day event brought together over 200 women who shared experiences and championed greater inclusion of women in STEM and engineering leadership.
The Chief Guest, Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, Mrs. Rachel Ruto, was represented by Ms. Mary Mwende, Chief of Staff, Office of the First Lady, who officially opened the summit and conveyed the First Lady's warm regards to the participants.
Held under the theme "Advancing Smart Intelligent Engineering Solutions for a Resilient Future," moderated by Eng. Lilian Kilatya, PE, MIEK. The summit featured insightful discussions led by distinguished leaders, including Eng. Jennifer Gache, PE, FIEK, Chair of the Women Committee-IEK; FCPA Margaret Nyakang'o, CBS, Controller of Budget; Hon. Millie Odhiambo, MP for Suba North; FCPA Nancy Gathungu, CBS, Auditor-General; Hon. Priscilla Nyokabi; Eng. Nicholas Airo, PE, MIEK-Chief Executive Officer – NAS International and Carolyne Omanga, Head of Sales, Women Banking at Stanbic Bank Kenya.
A key message across the summit was the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and embracing emerging technologies to remain relevant, drive innovation, and build resilient engineering solutions for the future. The discussions underscored the critical role women engineers play in leveraging technology to solve today's challenges and create sustainable impact for generations to come.
