The project focuses on the empowerment and development of women in Kenya. The project aims to address the challenges faced by Kenyan women in accessing financial services, which hinders their economic growth and development. The draft project has several objectives that include:
INCREASING FINANCIAL INCLUSION
The project aims to increase financial inclusion by enrolling more women as members of the SACCO. Financial inclusion is critical in reducing poverty levels and enhancing economic growth. The SACCO will provide financial services to women who are often excluded from formal financial systems due to various barriers such as lack of collateral, low literacy levels, and cultural norms.
PROVIDING ACCESSIBLE CREDIT.
Access to affordable credit is essential for women to invest in income-generating activities. The project aims to provide accessible credit to women by offering flexible loan terms and affordable interest rates. The SACCO will also provide training on financial literacy to enable women to make informed decisions regarding credit use.
PROMOTING SAVING CULTURE
The project aims to promote a savings culture among women by encouraging them to save regularly. The SACCO will offer various savings products such as fixed deposits, recurrent deposits, and share savings. The SACCO will also provide education on the importance of saving for future use.
ENHANCING WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS
The project aims to enhance women’s entrepreneurship skills by providing training on business management, financial planning, and marketing. The training will enable women to start and manage successful businesses, thereby increasing their income levels.
BUILDING WOMEN'S SOCIAL NETWORKS
The project aims to build women’s social networks by providing a platform for women to interact and share ideas. The SACCO will organize regular meetings, workshops, and events that will enable women to build relationships and learn from each other.
