The Co-op Trust Investment Services Limited 5th Annual Investors’ Conference in Rio, Brazil, “Agri Business Investing” kicked off earlier in the week.
The conference brings together over 90 attending delegates from the investment and financial services sectors for a strategic conversation on the future of agribusiness investment - “ Pensions Schemes in Agri- Business, FIAGROs”
In his opening remarks, the Managing Director/CEO, FA, Nicholas Ithondeka, MCSI, highlighted the strong growth of Kenya’s investment industry, noting the remarkable expansion of pension investments and unit trusts coupled with the need to diversify into Alternative Investments in Agri Sector.
H.E. Dr. Amb. Andrew Karanja, Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil, delivered the keynote Address. He emphasized the vast agribusiness opportunities between Kenya and Brazil. He noted that both countries share strong agricultural foundations and significant potential for deeper agribusiness collaboration. Kenya’s youthful population and expanding consumer market continue to position the country as an attractive investment destination.
The Conference seeks a roadmap for leaders seeking to build the next generation of agricultural investment products and partnerships. The MD further stated the need for a collaborative and innovative engagement that helps redefine the future of global agribusiness and focus structured Capital through use of Pension assets.
