Writing for my family and friends who’ve been calling to seek advice on investment in crypto currencies

Bit(e) coin - don’t blink your eye else you will be bitten

Basic principle of investment is simple,

“there has to be an underlying asset that backs the instrument”, in shares there is an operating company basis who’s operations shares derive value, debt instruments backed by assets for creation of which debt is raised;

Regular currencies are backed by sovereign assets but the problem comes with crypto, no official recognition, no underlying only principle is

“You should have the next man standing in passing the parcel”

In nutshell it is just like spending fun time in a global casino if u won than you consider yourself lucky.

US stocks had a second week of decline across the board as investors focus has shifted to the impending fiscal cliff. The S&P 500 lost 1.45% to close the week at 1,359.88. The tech-heavy Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 1.77% to end the week at 12,588.31. The NASDAQ Index closed at 2,853.13, representing a 1.78% decline. The small cap Russell 2000 was the biggest laggard of the week retreating 2.36% to close at 776.28 - Winton Investment Services Ltd

Nairobi Securities Exchange: Succumbs to Pressure…The bourse succumbed to distribution pressure as all indices closed in the red. The NSE 20 Share Index shed 0.09% closing at 4155.99 after setting another 52-week high of 4160.49 on Thursday. The FTSE 15 and FTSE 25 lost 0.94% and 0.91% respectively as the NASI dropped by 0.35 points to 92.59. The FTSE Bond Index was down 6.076 points from 103.233 to 97.157.
