Napoleon Hill, in Think and Grow Rich, argues that achievement begins with definite desire.

But here's the uncomfortable part:

Big dreams often require you to stop worrying about looking ridiculous.

If you want something extraordinary, you cannot always behave like everyone else.

You have to be shameless enough to ask.

Shameless enough to introduce yourself.

Shameless enough to knock on doors that other people are afraid to approach.

And unreasonable enough to believe that a door might actually open.

Most people kill their dreams before they even begin because they're too concerned about what people will say.

“What if they reject me?”

“What will people think?”

“Who am I to ask?”

That's the problem.

Sometimes you have to be unreasonable about your ambition while being disciplined about your ex*****on.

Because the people who achieve unusual things are often willing to pursue possibilities that everyone else considers unrealistic.

Desire tells you what you want.

Shamelessness makes you ask for it.

Unreasonableness makes you refuse to believe it's impossible.

And action turns all three into reality.
