A survey by EFG Hermes found Kenya's savings rate sits at around 12% - below Africa's average of 17%, and less than half what low-income countries typically save (26%).

Even Uganda and Tanzania, with lower incomes than us, save more... wueh 🥲

The report points to something real:

👉🏽 High spending power (especially among young people chasing a flamboyant lifestyle), and a deep disconnect between parents and children on money — very little mentoring, very little financial literacy passed down.
