ACRE Africa the brand name of Agriculture and Climate Risk Enterprise Ltd., is a social business that designs insurance products for smallholder farmers. ACRE Africa is not an insurance company, but a service provider working with local insurers and other stakeholders in the agricultural insurance value chain. Our products are distributed through financial institutions, agribusinesses and retail businesses.

To advance integrated risk management solutions for smallholder farmers in Africa, we partnered with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the KALRO to accelerate seed varietal turnover.

In 7 counties in Kenya, we provided trial seed packs and hosted cooking demonstrations to identify producer and consumer preferences influencing varietal adoption.

By bundling with these trials, we encouraged while protecting farmers against climate risks, significantly boosting their willingness to embrace new seed varieties.
