Community organizing is all about building grassroots support. It's about identifying the people around you with whom you can create a common, passionate cause. And it's about ignoring the conventional wisdom of company politics and instead playing the game by very different rules. Many at times the "House Managers" have been completely left out in the rain of empowerment economically and socially. In this regard, Mombasa Leo SACCO managed to design a Savings & Credit scheme which will cater for their needs. The scheme has been successfully launched today.

Today, March 8th, is International Women's Day. What better way to celebrate it than to shine light on the ladies who have contributed to society with their talent, perseverance, and timeless wisdom.
This day has emerged as such in the early 1900's from the movements for women's rights. Much has been achieved since those days, but much remains to be done in the fight of gender equality. Mombasa Leo SACCO had a pleasure to participate in the act of empowering a woman economically. Passion, integrity and hard work is all you need to be successful. Thumb up for all the women in this world.

Mombasa Leo SACCO had a great pleasure of attending the KUSCCO Coast & Northeastern Regional Council Meeting today. Since the SACCO is based on "shariah compliance", we managed to raise the issue and the matter was acted upon positively hoping that in the near future KUSCCO will set aside a product for the "shariah compliance " SACCO.
