The budget for promotion in social networks can vary from zero to millions.

Create a page of your business on Instagram and Facebook.
* Publish photos of your product with a description;
* Shoot videos of your product or consumption process, or reviews of your customers;
* Use Reels and Stories tools;
* Shoot any content related to your product or on related topics - come up with something new and regularly publish in your accounts;
* Ask all your friends to follow you and repost to yourself;

So, you've thought about the place, trained the employees. Everything is cool with your product, it is of high quality and it will be wanted. Your price is good and the stock is fine. The only thing we need is to get clients 😃

Promotion.
Here, if you do not have money, you will have to think carefully about how to get out so as not to spend a lot of money, and attract a lot of customers to yourself.

1. You will have to spend money on a sign or other designation of your sales point. You should be visible from afar. Well, or you can draw a large poster yourself and hang it behind the glass - be creative.

When you carry on business – you should definitely accompany it with marketing.
Unfortunately, it is necessarily if you want to have clients.
But is it possible not to spend a lot of budget on marketing, but manage it in inexpensive ways? Possible!

What exactly is included in marketing? There is concept of 4P marketing, which consists of:
1. Product – product or service. This includes the quality of the product, its uniqueness, design;
2. Price – the cost of your product. Offers or markups vice versa;
3. Promotion – promotion of your product, advertising;
4. Place – the location of your sales point. Location, decoration of space, staff.

All this needs to be given attention.
Place.
When you're just looking for space for your business, you're already doing marketing. You should find a place on a passable street, with a convenient entrance. Then you should equip your room. And when you find employees, you have to train them to communicate with customers. Customers should like to come to you.

Product.
You should always monitor the quality of your product or service. So that the client wanted to come back to you again and he must get an excellent quality.
If you have a store and you sold customer a spoiled product - it is unlikely that he will return to you. Or you have a travel agency and you took the tourist not to where you promised and not by means you promised - he will not go anywhere else with you.

Price.
The price for your product should be adequate and competitive. Always follow the prices of competitors and adapt to them. Competitor monitoring is an important part of marketing.
To stimulate consumer demand, arrange offers. You should run an offer every month/week or maybe a day (depending on your field) for some tradable product. But it's important that your employees sell along with the promotional product something else so you don't lose money.

If you carry on business correctly and don't make mistakes, then you earn money. If you only lose money, then you are doing something wrong.

The psychological reasons of losing money:
1. You're doing business only for money, not for pleasure. You spend the earned money on empty things: to prove someone that you are cool and you have money for cool clothes. You should understand that money is a tool of your freedom, not your "coolness".

2. You don't know what you really want. If you want to have money you need to know exactly what you want out of life and how much money you need for specific purposes.

3. If you don't like what you're doing, then you won't have a lot of money from it. Find for yourself an activity that you will do with pleasure. If you can't change job or business, look for fun in what you're doing now.

4. If you postpone the development of your business for some reason: "now the crisis will end and I will do it", "that's when I earn much money, then I will ...", "when pigs fly, then I will launch this product". Do what you can here and now, do not postpone.

5. You consult a lot about your business with everyone around you and make decisions not by yourself, but this is only your business and only you know how it should be.

6. You tell everyone about your unrealized ideas and brag about your success. Money loves silence. Do not tell anyone about what you have planned and how much you have earned. Earn for yourself, but not to brag about.

7. You earn, but you do not invest money in the development of the business and in yourself. You always save for a "rainy day". Money should move, invest it in development of your business, then it will come to you.

8. There are a lot of emotions in your business. You often panic, get upset or angry if something doesn't work out.
Be calm. Don't panic if something goes wrong. Just fix the situation with a cool head, solve the problem and move on

Save for yourself this post and re-read it periodically, it will help you. Follow all the tips at once is unreal, but start at least from something and gradually move on. You will succeed

At the start of small business, we always recommend to carry out start-up of business and carry it on yourself for the first time so that you: A) do not spend money on staff; B) understand peculiarities of every step of your business.

But when you have already started to earn money and stopped to succeed everything by yourself – you need a team.
Let us consider the subject on example of opening of grocery store (we have written a post how to open your own store).
For example, you were engaged in opening, purchase of equipment and goods, you were engaged in marketing and you were salesman. Some time later you started cover your investments, people come to you = you need to purchase more goods, seek for new suppliers, do cleaning of store, serve the clients – and you are no longer sufficient for this. It is time to find employees!

Who you might need:
1. Two salesmen to work in shifts;
2. Cleaner;
3. Purchasing agent;
4. Accountant officer;
5. Marketing expert.

Of course, you do not need to hire all of them at once, start with salesmen. You will free your time and you will be able to pay more attention to purchases that will allow your business to grow further. And accordingly, hire new people. But it does not mean that immediately you stop to sell! Nobody sells better the goods than the owner of these goods! Therefore, for the first time you should be involved in sales.

1. Study in details and do not violate Kenya's labor laws.
2. Before hiring an employee, make a clear list of official duties. The employee should know what exactly he needs to do. Even if it seems to you a "so understandable" trifle to wipe windows, then a new person in your company may not understand it. So clearly spell everything out.
3. Teach the employee everything. You can even work with him for a few days and show him what and where it lies, where and what to write down, how to use the technique and other things. Be sure to tell and show him how to communicate with customers.
4. Set a salary. You should gather information about how much the average market pays for this position and set a competitive price.
Think about a transparent motivation system. For example, set salary – the part that an employee will receive anyway and a percentage of sales – the more an employee sells, the more salary they will receive.
5. And most important thing, you need to understand that you should be engaged with employees: to train, to devote them your own time and attention, transfer your experience, to motivate, etc.

A grocery shop is a great idea to start a business. People will always be eating, whatever happens. And you can always make money out of it.
In your shop you can sell meat, bread, cereals, fruit and vegetables, dairy products, and sweets.

How to open a shop:

1. Make market research. Take a walk around your town and go to all the shops. Look at the customers, what they take, what attracts them. Speak with the shop assistants: ask where a certain product is from, ask how that shop was opened, how much profit it makes..

2. Start looking for suppliers. Look through manufacturers or farms on the internet, call them, get to know their assortment, their prices and wholesale purchase conditions. Go to the local market, get to know the prices there. Make a chart with all the suppliers and the prices, then choose the most convenient one.

3. Find a place. When you went around shops you noticed in which areas there were more customers. Choose a similar area. The place has to be cool and dry, so that your products don’t go bad. As a start, don’t choose a big place, open a small shop.

4. Register your business

5. Buy a fridge for perishable products. Make showcases and shelves on your own or buy them.

6. Make a sign board, so that your shop could be seen from a distance

7. Print leaflets with the opening date of the shop, its address, working hours, maybe some discounts and distribute them door-to-door, give them away to passers-by.

How much you need to get started
The initial capital depends on the size of your shop, the quantity and assortment of the products that you are going to buy.
For a small shop you need 100 000 – 150 000 kes. This includes:
* Rent of the place – 15 000 kes
* License purchase – 7 000 kes
* Fridge – 40 000 kes
* Shop windows and shelves – 15 000 kes
* Shop sign (banner) – 5 000 kes
* Purchase of the first batches of goods – 40 000 kes

The estimated sales per day could be 10 000 – 20 000 kes
With time, you will be able to open a bigger shop and develop your own chain of stores. We wish you a lot of success.

Money is thing that you should always have! If you have no money, it means that you’re doing something wrong. Let’s look at the habits that prevent you from having money.

1. Give the responsibility to other people or to the situation for your own failures
If you look at other people who have a better car, a better flat or better clothes and you feel anger, envy, offended, you think “He is a thief”, “He’s just lucky”, then change your way of thinking: this draws you to the bottom.
Try to understand that you’re the only person who is responsible for your own well-being. If a person has got more than you, it means that you haven’t worked hard enough, and that's it 😉

2. Showing off
When you buy clothes, devices, entertainment just to make other people see how cool you are, but in fact you have nothing left to pay for your accommodation or to eat decently, this isn’t good. This way you won't get to a real well-being: conversely, you will worsen your financial situation. Be strong enough to say no to unnecessary expenses, live according to your resources.

Divide your expenses in groups:
• Basic: bills, credits, food, medicines;
• Important: clothes, renovation, devices;
• Non-fundamental: entertainment, cafes, travels, shopping for pleasure;
• Saved up money: this is your comfort and stability.

Plan your budget according to the scheme: the first group, then the second and the third one, but always allocate 10-20% of your earnings to the fourth group.
Pay special attention to groups 2 and 3 – reduce your expenses exactly in these two ones if money is not enough.

3. Being lazy
You have decided that your life has to change, you think and talk about it, but don’t do anything… You still don’t want to go to work, don’t make a table with your budget, don’t look for new ways to make money: then it is impossible that you will manage to change anything. Just do it!

4. Accumulating rubbish
It might sound strange, but money needs space.
Throw away everything that is broken, damaged, old or useless. It only takes space, and in its place can be taken by something new.

Start taking action today and don’t be afraid of making mistakes.
