MANDERA YOUTH ASSEMBLY STATEMENT: CONDEMNING THE KILLING OF 6 TRAVELLERS ON THE MANDERA-ARABIA ROAD IN MANDERA EAST CONSTITUENCY, OUR CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILIES OF THE DECEASED AND PRAYERS FOR THE INJURED VICTIMS
It is shocking, saddening and heartbreaking to hear that a 14 seater matatu heading from Mandera to Arabia was attacked by armed gunmen and 6 lives lost and multiple others injured. The passengers in the matatu were heading to a religious function.
This is very unfortunate and sickening incident that violates the principles of human rights and justice. Innocent and unarmed travelers lost their lives while travelling to a religious function and we hereby take this opportunity to condemn this heinous act that wrecks of evil and an attack on all of us who are part and parcel of our progressive and peaceful society of Mandera County.
Our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this painful incident. Our prayers are with the injured who were referred to the hospital and are currently undergoing treatment. May Allah grant them a quick healing and sooner recovery In Shaa Allah.
The Mandera Youth Assembly hereby calls upon the authorities and the state security agencies to act swiftly and deliver justice for the victims of this heinous act of evil and brutality. It is the time the Government of Kenya took of the lives of our people seriously and ensured that the security and safety of our people is given the highest consideration it deserves.
