For Those Who Like buying cars in Mombasa
1. Do not come to This City Blindly without any references. Everybody is a broker once you tell them you've come for a car. Your interests are not catered for in such situations. Utashikanishwa na any car at first sight .
2. Never Carry Cash .
All Transactions are to be done through the bank transfer
3. The Best Showrooms are Pakistani owned. These Men are not greedy ! Their profit margins are reasonable compared to other showrooms.
4. Be on the look out for Vehicles that gave been in use by the showroom and put up for sale as new. Verify the mileage at the time of inspection with the current mileage in the Odometer
5. Never show too much interest in a car ! As much as you may have fallen in love with it (Ladies) . This only convinces the showroom to place a higher price tag on the vehicle. Always act like you aren't moved an inch by a vehicle's looks
6. Avoid Brokers who walk & stand in groups outside showrooms. Too many Interests combine for a single deal. 90% of the time your interests will not be at heart.
7. Do not Sign sale agreements or Pay without having a comprehensive look at the vehicle.
8. Ask for auction sheets to check on the grading of the vehicle you are about to buy
9. Service your Vehicle before Driving back to Upcountry . Change oil filters, air filters, spark plugs , worn out wipers etc. Do your identity and riveting of car parts before leaving Mombasa. Cars from showroom are a hotcake for theft. Fit Tracking devices too
10. Cars with mileage not more than 150,000kms are good. Avoid extremely low mileage cars. They are potential accident cars. Cars whose inspection point is UAE on the QISJ website are all accident cars
11. Leave early in the morning to avoid Night Driving .
12. Incase you make a stop over at mtito andei , be on the look out for car thieves. Most cars disappear at this point. midway into their journey to Nairobi
Or Rather contact a genuine car dealer and ask them to bring a car for you on behalf
