Turning dreams into reality.

The journey we began several months ago has now borne the first of many fruits to come.

Over 230 underprivileged pupils from Godbura, Obanga, and Seka Primary Schools will receive new school shoes on Tuesday, 10th June 2025.

It took more than courage for us to keep reaching out to you for support, but your kindness and willingness to stand with us have made this milestone possible.

Together, we are not just giving shoes, we are restoring dignity, inspiring hope, and reminding these children that they are seen and valued.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Can Cassava Kill?
Yes, it can if not properly processed.

Cassava contains naturally occurring chemical compounds known as cyanogenic glycosides. These compounds are present in more than 25 commonly consumed food crops, including cassava, sorghum, lima bean, arrowroot, and finger millet.

Cyanogenic glycosides are not toxic however, when plant tissues are damaged through peeling or chewing, an enzymatic reaction occurs that leads to the release of hydrogen cyanide. Hydrogen cyanide is toxic because it interferes with the body’s ability to utilize oxygen in the cells.

Consuming raw or improperly processed cassava can therefore expose an individual to harmful levels of cyanide.

Proper processing significantly reduces cyanide content to safe levels. Recommended methods include peeling, washing, soaking, fermenting, drying, and thorough boiling before consumption.

It is also important to note that different cassava varieties contain different levels of cyanogenic glycosides. Bitter varieties generally have higher concentrations than sweet varieties and require more thorough processing.

Proper handling and preparation make cassava safe and an important food security crop.
