The National Feminist Parliamentarians' International Forum will be held on ( February 4th ) tomorrow.
Women's Leadership and Peace :
How Mexico's Half-Gender Parliament Is Conveying Women's Voices to Peacebuilding,
The National Feminist Parliamentarians' International Division has been discussing since last spring what actions can be taken to prevent war through women's political participation in the current social climate. The committee also held a study session on the Beijing Platform for Action, and finally, the international forum will be held with the Mexican Ambassador speaking.
However, with the sudden dissolution of the Diet and the general election, the participation of the Diet members we invited to speak is now in doubt.
Representative Motomura has kindly provided us with a message to read on the day.
In the current precarious social climate, we believe that hearing the Mexican Ambassador's speech will be an extremely valuable opportunity.
Even though an election is currently underway, we urge you to attend!

Melba Pria (Ambassador of Mexico to Japan)
The first UN World Conference on Women was held in Mexico in 1975. At the fourth UN Women's Conference in China in 1995, the 361-article "Beijing Platform for Action" was adopted.
The "Women and Armed Conflict" section of the platform emphasized reducing military spending, promoting a culture of peace, and protecting refugee women and children. How has the world addressed this issue?
In this era of ongoing war, we will hear about the current situation and hopes of a country with a gender-equal parliament under a feminist president.
