Universities rely on endowments to fund things like research and scholarships, and those endowments are typically invested in companies and alternative asset classes, such as private equity and hedge funds.

Broadly speaking, calls for divestment are demands to sell investments in companies that students say are complicit in the war.

Western Easter Wishes from the USA..... The American Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) family wishes all those who celebrating a Blessed Easter. Today is a time of renewal and hope, and is a special occasion for Christians around the world.

Unfortunately for Palestinian Christians the blessed occasion of Easter does not shield them from the cruel, brutal and violent reality of living under Israeli genocide, aggression, occupation and apartheid. Palestinian Christians, like their Muslim brothers and sisters, are prevented from reaching their places of worship in Jerusalem by Israeli occupation forces, enduring a genocide in Gaza and face the violent reality of occupation, apartheid and ethnic cleansing all over Palestine.

On this day of renewal and hope, let us uplift each other and continue the just struggle for liberation grounded in unity. Let us take time today to pray and work towards an end to the genocide, occupation, and a Free Palestine.
