The Commission aims to:

- Ensure that all authorised financial services and individuals meet appropriate criteria and that we match international standards of banking, securities, trust company business, and insurance regulation, as well as anti-money laundering and terrorist financing defences.

- Be effective in combatting terrorism and financial crime as part of the wider international effort in this respect

- Work closely with fellow regulators and law makers to ensure access to efficient and effective markets for financial services

- Be an agile and thoughtful regulator in reducing risk to depositors and investors whilst being proportionate so that the costs of regulation do not outweigh their benefits. Please note all images and content are copyright of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC)

If your business handles large sums of cash, we’re here to help you stay compliant with Jersey laws.

If you sell goods and accept €15,000 (around £12,500) or more in cash or virtual assets for a single transaction, or for several payments that are linked, you may be considered a high value dealer under Jersey law.

That could mean you need to register with us.

Our role is to support, protect and enable businesses like yours while helping keep Jersey safe from financial crime.

To make things simple, we’ve created clear and practical guidance that explains what the rules are and what you may need to do.

You don’t need to be a compliance expert - we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

Thank you to everyone for joining us at our mid-year update, and to our speakers. It was a real demonstration of the all-island effort to drive growth.

As we shared at the event, we are already seeing early signs that this collective focus is starting to make a difference:

• fund services business authorisations have doubled year-on-year
• trust company business approvals are already more than twice the historical annual average
• Jersey private fund registrations are on the rise

The event was a great opportunity to focus on what’s ahead – and the progress already underway – to support a competitive, responsive financial services environment in Jersey, with simpler regulation, faster decisions and growing momentum across the sector.
